He took Phonte whole style and passed it off as his own. Is what it is.

I’d much rather hear Drake “rap like Budden” or “Phonte” or “Elzhi” then his pop mid R&B rap.

Phonte and El are two of drakes earliest influences. They even have songs together on Comeback Season

@@shrubs5098 I know. He’s a welfare version of Phonte. Elzhi in my personal top5-15 GOAT tier.

His influence isn't even Wayne, but his fame. Fr his early influences are Phonte and Elzhi, like mentioned in the other comment. That fact the didn't even bring them up, from the 9th wonder hype alone... Bum. He said "when your mans doing a bid and you go get him." Audrey... Bro.. WHAT?! 🤣🤣🤣

Drake was showing Phonte love until Phonte dissed him in "Not Here Anymore".

There is a genuine fan of music and artistry within Drake I think he just lost the plot within the fame and insecurity and media chatter. You can still come home bro and we still like a lot of your songs but please confront yourself and be yourself

Being a fan of music and artistry is part of why he experiments with other sounds. The other part mightve gotten tired of people saying "Drake is too soft". The truth is if he was using the "Think Good Thoughts" sound for 15 years, most of us wouldve gotten bored

@@romeored901 that's part of the problem...being seen as performing outside of what's deemed masculine. It's really sad. Narrow stereotypical norms constrain men’s physical and emotional health as well as their relations with women, other men, and children.

@@rahbeeuh I agree with you 100% and as a result, most of us are ticking time bombs. Drake is just adapting the best way he sees fit. He came in the industry making friends with the "little guys" and the "top dogs" (pun intended), and they all fronted on him. For the most part, everyone was cool with his image until DMX started hating.
