We like Proconnect because of the tax planning tools and easy navigation of it. Thank you for all the value!

I am an accountant. However, I am working for a bank, and since I started working here, I am not in charge of the taxes. Actually, I think there is an independent firm taking care of that. I would love to eventually go independent, and I have decided to start doing taxes for an extra income and, of course, with the goal of becoming independent in the near future. Like I previously said, I work in the accounting department, but I am not in charge of the full accounting cicle. Which software do you recommend if I want to start doing small business accounting? And which software is better for a tax preparer's beginner? Thank you for your answer.

The most simple is Proconnect or Taxslayer Pro but it il also more expensive. More affordable recommendations - Drake tax. And, good luck!

Hi, I have couple of years experience with ATX from my previous job 5 years ago. Most recently I'm thinking of starting my first own practice and I've been hearing positive reviews for drake. Would you suggest using the ATX software that I have experience with from 5 years ago or try to start up with Drake?

I feel it's better to use the one that you are used to, to be honest. The first year will be a learning curve for you, especially in terms of learning how to work with clients, etc. So at least you can eliminate the struggle of learning new tax software during your first tax season. Maybe later, you could switch to another tax software during the off-season if it makes economic sense.

Thank you for your input. I've watched your videos, they are very informative and helpful. Would you be open to discussing the possibility of you mentoring me on a causal basis?

Hi, I have been tax preparation for the last 2yrs. Do I need PTIN or EFIN to use this Software. Many Thanks

Hi! Yes you will need both PTIN and EFIN if you would like to purchase the tax software and e-file. The softwares wouldn't let you e-file without PTIN and EFIN. Turbotax doesn't require anything but it is not professional tax software and is expensive and has lots of limitations

@@notsoboringcpa Thank you for your reply. I am not in the US, however most OF my client are all US based. Which means I require SSN to obtain both the PTIN AND EFIN. What is advice?
@notsoboringcpa7 күн бұрын
@@austinaustin7161 I thunk you can still get PTIN, but for EFIN (to e-file) you need SSN. I maybe recommend to partner with US tax preparer or US firm
