Naw, Drake's MJ line was garbage. I Get it, but MJ, with his skin disease, was 10 times blacker than Drake has ever been.
@ThisDude2345 ай бұрын
Agreed cuz yeah thas another line that bugged me. MJ made it known how much people thinking that he was trying to erase his blackness hurt him. All he wanted to do was keep his coloration even while the vitiligo did iss work. But does Drake care abt that despite supposedly respecting MJ? Nope. Just another person for him to use.
@poploxion5 ай бұрын
Disrespecting the legacies of 2Pac and MJ to a predominantly black US audience (hip-hop fans) further proved just how out of touch with the culture Drake is. It takes a lot more than rapping good to be hip-hop, and he just doesn’t get it

No one knows whether the daughter thing is fake or not and the ENTIRETY of mtg was demonic and what won the battle. I mean. Can we say Drake cooked at all when there is reference track, after reference track coming out? Part of rapping is your pen game and being able to execute what you wrote. And let's be honest. There's paying homage. And then there's Drake basically copying the hook and flow, along with the lyrics for any popular song in the last 20 years as "homage" in every other song he does. Which does coincidentally seem to be a recurring theme with ghostwriters. I don't know if I can give Drake credit on any of his diss songs towards Kendrick (or who even knows which songs we can actually give him any credit on), because it seems like it's only a matter of time before a reference track is leaked or someone is going to be on a forum raging how Drake stole their whole shit. Or maybe, he gets sued again for using something without asking.... Oh wait... Taylor Made did happen.
@monarchy75005 ай бұрын
been saying it for years, how can you give credit to any song that drake “writes” when it came out he had a ghostwriter on R.I.C.O, every drake stan always used the “kanye said drake wrote for him” but at that point you would need someone somewhat credible to back it up, it’s jus satisfying that everyone is starting to discredit his authenticity and not jus haters and if you listen to rico now, and hear drakes verse, the irony is palpable there’s so much
@ql54815 ай бұрын
Drake can write or used to write but as he's become more commercial and souless dropping an album a year he's gotten lazier the music has gone down and the more and more reference tracks come out he's given up being a real rapper so why give him any props anymore?

I’ve watched over 20 of these type of videos that cover this beef including some reactions and a few reaction compilations because what Kendrick did gave so much credibility to the sentiments I had in regards to Drake’s position in pop culture (his position being that he is NOT hip-hop, and I will die on that hill); and I must say your approach to this video has to be one of the most refreshing ones out there. Here’s the thing about Whitney denying allegations: if she comes out immediately and says “that’s a lie,“ people are just going to say oh Kendrick made her say that. No one‘s going to believe her. If she offers to take a DNA test to prove Dave isn’t the father, it’s going to show that Drake put a kernel of doubt in Kendrick’s mind. Any response from her would be just as effective as Drake on the Heart Part 6 saying I’m disgusted by those suggestions, I would never do that. It gets him nowhere, it’s not gonna change anyone’s opinion, so it’s really not worth doing.

Damn being this early is crazy. Anyways beef was a good time, low key distracted nighaz but was a solid time. Drake did what he could do especially considering it was a “20v1” and for better or for worse Kendrick won like everyone predicted he would. Hot take but, I don’t think that it was that fair considering know matter what Drake did which is probably why he waved the white flag on The Heart Part 6 Best songs to come out of the beef imo were Euphoria and Family Matters. All the being said respect for all of them. Even J Cole. As I like to say “Cole goes the hardest, Aubrey is the smartest, and KDot is the artist” Can see why J Cole wanted nothing to do with it I can’t imagine being called a women beater or a child predator is fun. Honestly felt more bad for Drizzy considering the women beater allegation got ignored on Kendrick side.

Also hot take but Kendrick only dropped Not Like Us because of the daughter thing being false which did cause Meet The Grahams to take an L. Which is why I definitely disagree with Meet The Grahams being “The best diss track” because 1/3 of your song being about someone who is made up is embarrassing which is why I definitely believed NLU was a low key panic move. A smart move but definitely his Red Button considering how much of a bop it is. KDot really got nighaz dancing to pdf music will never not be funny 😂 Also agree Mr Morale and The Big Steppers is definitely underrated. And would say Kendrick was also the first major artist I would actively go out of my way to listen too. But that being said I came into the beef 100% rooting for Kung Fu Kenny then leaving the beef respecting The Boy more and now going threw his catalog like how I used to (still do) for KDot. Say what you will but he stood his ground and despite the ghost writer jokes that I believe paint a bad picture considering he actually has a good pen. (many artists have spoke highly of Drake’s writing skills) On top of that despite jokes about ghost writers during the beef actually wrote every diss track himself just as Kendrick did which was a pleasant surprise considering how hard Family Matters went. Solid vid tho

Not like us was always coming. Was already made. Headshot for a year you better walk around like Daft Punk was all about the fact that he knew he had a hit in Tuck that he was going to drop on Drake's head. I don't think we would have got meet the Grahams however if Drake hadn't called Kendrick's wife a w**** and his son not his and said that Kendrick beat her. I think that not like us would have been toned down, less pdf file stuff but still Drake does like them young, meet the grams would have been non-existent. if you think about it, push-ups to euphoria, Taylor Made to 616 in LA and not like us would have dropped to end the beef. Kendrick wanted to keep it above board, but Drake did not. Got his ass handed to him because he went low first on both push-ups and Family Matters and there you have it. In the end Drake got the ass whooping he asked for and he probably does have a daughter and maybe even a son. There have been articles written about the child support for both, but it matters not, really. Drake has to contend with his long life battle with himself

we have no evidence whether the daughter exists or not. considering Drake already lied about that before, its not outside the realm of possibility. also, Not Like Us was always meant to follow MTG. MTG was the serious, somber tone that allowed the pedo gate to be opened, and Not Like Us was the hammer to get it across in a catchy, funny and danceable way. and without the daughter verse, MTG still functions and is a surgical dissection of how awful a person and a rot to society Drake is in Dot's eyes Drake's mistake is seemingly not being able to see Kendrick for who he is now, and little bro-ing him when it no longer makes sense. sure, Drake took him on his first tour, but that was more than a decade ago, since then, Dot has only cemented himself as the premiere rapper of their era and is second only in commercial terms which he already claims is not very important to him if this was a perfect movie, Drake should have put up a better fight. and not gone after Whitney and the children unprovoked. for some reason, he didnt learn anything from Pusha. he made all the same mistakes and suffered for it
