I use a .TX Foredom for the heavy work and a Gessewin Marathon Micromotor for the fine details. You can get bits from the Jaymes Company. They have a web site and there are others you can get these bits from. I put a short video together covering those and the equipment I use. Just search to videos on my channel for “tools and equipment”. Hope that helps.

Tom, when you started out, did you ever go through two or three heads when you were making a decoy to try to get one that looks good? I am thinking about doing that as I usually am not happy with the heads/bills that I am turning out. Bruce Brandeberry

Yep. That’s why I normally carve the head first. It’s where the life is conveyed and if I like the way the head turns out it motivates me to want to finish the bird.

That's going to be a really nice bird Tom. Just curious..have you ever challenged yourself with a full decorative?

Yes I have SO. A long time ago I did a GWT hen decorative but I just don't have the patience to do an entire decorative bird. Having too much fun doing what I do!
