Drake I know angels were among you and kept your spirit flying high. I was there that night when you had that horrendous spell I was near the front of the stage I seen it all I’ll never forget What i seen in the quick action of Big Fire taking care of you. I also seen you being carried out on a stretcher and you raising your arm up like “I got this”.I know that our local hospital and staff took great care of you because that’s what we do here in the great state of Virginia. I can so relate 2 this song and ur story my date was 6-27-2020 a horrible car accident hit by dd head on changed my whole life but im still fighting everyday 2 get better and I think maybe the hurt is the healing thank u 4 ur story and this song thank God 2 giving u and me a 2 chance 💖

Survivor here. 30 days in hospital july of 2020. I fought...I never gave up! My husband fought the doctors & told them - no ventilater. They told him to take my wedding ring & say goodbye to me. Drake you & your music have got me through some really dark days!!! My daughter, Ava who’s now 25, loves your music too!!! Although I didn’t suffer a stroke, I have been through quite a bit. Ava was deceased at birth for 4 minutes. After reviving her, she & us spent the next 5 months in the NICU. Because of Ava’s brain disability she can’t speak plainly but you ought to hear her sing along to your songs! We were finally able to come see you perform live in Greensboro, NC earlier this year! I wish we could have met you!! Ava has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. But she has taught me so much! I Thank the good Lord that he wasn’t finished with you yet! You have the most positive attitude. Lots of isolation through 25 years to keep Ava healthy, some days I really thought I was losing it! I got divorced after 22 years. Having a kid with many special needs is brutal on the best marriage! When I’m having one of those yuck days that we all have, I play your music & start singing & my bad mood disappears!!! I have many favorite songs of yours. “Girl in Pieces”, I think you wrote that for me! And I love to dance & sing “Grandpas Farm”! And of course I adore “Hurts the Healing”! Such a special song! I used music to crawl back from left sided paralysis. Damned if I wasn't doing to be able to tap out the beat with my left foot. Forget that I was drooling and couldn't raise my head out of bed. God helped me first start with tapping to the music. Note to anyone just working on getting around with a walker, just getting past the dragging that lazy foot phase...now try picking up the walker-like a tight rope walker's balance bar- use the walker to help balance. Not a step or two, yet. Just to stand independently a second or two. Wow, that felt good. Then slowly practice over the days, weeks months doing a little more. Don't be stup, be sure you always have a crash pad plan in case you have to bail out.
