Midwester here, I have met people that eat wings both ways. My best man shoves the whole chicken in his mouth and it's just weird, I like to slowly die and enjoy my wings lmfao Also a side note, I am with Sam on the whole pizza ordeal, my family owns a local pizza place and we only do phone orders, and only 1 person I know of will ask for no cheese. So, yes, it is a default topping :p

Having also worked at a pizza place, cheese is absolutely not a topping. Cheese is its own element, with its own subsection in the pizza assembly. It is not part of the "topping" category.

I would say if I asked for a pizza with sausage, I don't expect a need to clarify that I also want dough, sauce, and cheese to be included. Thus I would consider those parts to be default. I'd say cheese is a topping since you need to specify cheese pizza, you can't just call Pizza Hut like "Hello I would like a pizza." with zero specifications. If you need to say it in conjunction with the food item then it's a specification and therefore not default, so cheese isn't a default on pizza, it's a default if you ask for a pizza with other toppings, but not on pizza itself. Said Pizza so many times it looks like a made-up word.

Sam is 100 percent in the right here, Cheese is a default inherent part of the concept that is a pizza, ordering a pizza without cheese is like ordering fried chicken without the breading, you are asking for something that fundamentally is not what you are ordering. It is implied that if you call up Pizza Palace, and order a large pepperoni pizza, you are getting bread with tomato sauce spread over it, covered with shredded mozzarella cheese and slices of pepperoni. Asking for "cheese and pepperoni" is redundant. Now, EXTRA Cheese IS a topping, whenever a place does a deal where like a large 3 topping is like 12 dollars or w/e, extra cheese always takes up a topping slot, but its EXTRA, it is IN ADDITION TO the cheese already present on the pizza. I don't know where the other members of NEST are coming from on this but to hear the argument otherwise makes me wonder what the logic is. Even at my most galaxy brain I can't see it. As to best fire starter and wing eating technique, I have no opinions. (I imagine its all in good fun banter but being alone with your thoughts can sometimes make you type a paragraph about pizza.)

the logic is that there are lactose intolerant people. cheese is not a requirement of pizza, its just what we consider normal. thats what being a mutant is good for (lactose tolerance is a mutation.) realistically pizza as we understand it has existed less than 200 years if i recall. so 4 generations essentially. so no one is actually wrong its just sam is triggered and no one wants to let him have that one. however some pizza places do pizzas with no cheese. pizza hut and dominoes both do not typically get anything beyond normal. but some local or minor chains do pizzas without cheese. then you gotta think we get to add grilled chicken and different sauce types. i enjoy watching the double brickwall there though. neither side is actually incorrect about the pizza thing.

Just because something is a default option doesn’t mean it can’t be altered or taken off. Sam’s bun comparison makes sense, the bun is there by default but you can choose to not have a bun or some places have a lettuce wrap type thing.

I work in a pizza hut, and while they have extra cheese as an upcharge, cheese as a topping, like pepperoni, beef, onion etc, is not a thing where i work. It's default with cheese with the option to remove much like hamburger buns

Nah, see, Sam IS right: a pizza is a crust, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese. And before anyone says "but what about X?", two things. One: Most places that advertise as selling pizzas, if you want something other than those toppings, you need to specify that, making "an pizza" those things, likewise if you ask someone what is "an pizza", they will say those things. Two: If you bring up other styles of pizza, you are adding qualifying words to them, and thus those are pizzas, yes, but they are not "an pizza". They are "chocolate pizzas" or "pizza pies" or "cheeseless/sauceless pizzas". The fact that you need extra qualifiers to get the point across proves that "an pizza" is crust, red sauce, and white cheese.

I remember Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and the rest of those shows. Hell, I remember when Moltar hosted Toonami. Hanna-Barbera was a big deal. Also I can't imagine eating a whole chicken wing like that. How do you avoid the cartilage and stuff? I don't even like wings. And the sauces are often spicy and thus inedible. I've actually tried to use a fork and knife for them but it remains a hassle.
