I bought a bottle of this last week and it's the 80's in a bottle. Seems to last for a good length of time but that might be because my nose is so close to my neck but it's a very pleasant scent and as far as the retro part, that's fine with me because i liked that era.
@Coyote279819 ай бұрын
My father used this in the 80s and 90s, i always liked it. I bought it recently ... and its way too weak. It lasts 2-3hs. It still smells great, specially in the end but you need to stick your nose really close to feel it. Now Drakkar Intense EDP ... thats a different story. Not as powerful opening, but lasts twice as much.

While in college, in international marketing class, we did a case study involving pheromone based colognes. I started using one called Andron and immediately got the attention of a very beautiful girl. We dated several months before she gave me a bottle of Polo, saying it was her all time favorite. With in a week or so she dropped me. Was it due to the change from pheromone overtones? Who knows, but were i still single i would go only for the alluring colognes (cheating maybe ). P.S. I still have a bottle of 007, circa 1966. Please don't tell anyone.

What a great review of a great cologne...! The current formulation of "Drakkar Noir" is pretty weak and smells also a little bit different than the older versions. But there's a trick you can do: Get the Al Rehab "Dakar" perfume oil, apply it to your skin and then spray a few layers of the original Drakkar Noir over it. The result is fantastic! Almost a perfect copy to the vintage version. Just the very final drydown is a little bit different, but the rest is at least for my nose almost identical.

This was my signature cologne from the late 80s through the early 2000s. I'm definitely too old for it now. I think me and you are almost exactly the same age. On a sidenote, you use the phrase "down the bar" which I believe is a Welsh colloquialism. Stateside when Philadelphians go visit the beaches in New Jersey we go "down the Shore" , which may be a linguistic holdover from early Welsh immigrants. The Philadelphia region is full of Welsh place names, including the town I live in now.

Even though the dna is in no way dated - nowadays this would only be taken seriously as a refreshing gym scent. Too aromatic and herbal - no leather tobacco tonka ect. I can't see this being worn on dates nor clubs. Its not alluring either - just intoxicatingly fresh and earthy. It can be cheesy masculine if you wear it to the wrong place. You might get weird looks wearing this if you ARENT looking sporty wearing basketball shorts and a tank top. I wouldn't wear this in the winter- too fresh and not sweet enough. That refreshing gym scent you speak of - aka showergel, is what _every_ modern day 'blue' scent tries to emulate. It's so generic and boring, but Drakkar still punches far above its weight and has an old school edge that makes it far more interesting than the modern juices
