Here we are... Stop number 3 of the USA bmx national pro series. Carolina Nationals in Rockhill, South Carolina. We had a great battle here last year and kept it alive for another! This is going to be a fun year!

Hey Mr. Nobles I've been watching your videos for a few months now as I've wanted to start racing BMX, Im 17 and I got my first job so i can buy a bike and equipment. I havent been able to make it to any practice sessions yet but I have been praciticing my sprints after looking at almost all of your sprint videos. I have luckily found you on youtube so your now a big inspiration for me to keep grinding. I'm from Georgia so hopefully I can make it to the dixieland nationals this year and keep racing till im the best of the best. Also the videos look great keep up the good work. Much Love, Christian

I rode expert class from 1979 to 1985. Then, I joined the Army. Didn't have the money or sponsorship to turn Pro, but many times, I beat big name Legends in BMX in the Open Pro/Privateer class. It was unheard of then to be over 30 yrs old in Pro class. Usually, 25 yrs and up dropped 20" bikes and raced 24" Cruisers. Now, there's vintage 55 and up class at special events. I'm 57 now and ride an SE 26" OM Flyer. I don't get air anymore. Afraid I'll break a hip.

Two things, one good, one neutral. You, Barry, are kick asss. You are an extremely good example of leadership in BMX. The neutral, not a huge thing, but the American flag on your right shoulder is facing the wrong direction IAW American Flag etiquette. Retired Marine, I notice this stuff. It is not a law though. Keep kicking ass, and love to your family. Your daughter is adorable.

I’m not even ex military and it bothers me when I don’t see stars-forward. Most companies that put flags on gear don’t even realize this, wish they did
@barrynobles952 жыл бұрын
The flag was the first thing I noticed when I opened them from the package. They were made by a French company so I made sure to let them know the error so it’s sorted for the next round

Barry, the flag is the correct direction. It is oriented as if it were going into battle.
@lanceav8r2 жыл бұрын
@@brianrandolph7573 only if he is riding backwards into battle! The left shoulder flag is correct. The right shoulder flag is supposed to be "assaulting forward" with the stars forward and the flag flying aft. The right shoulder should have the reverse flag. Great videos Barry!

This may have been asked already, but how are you so much faster on the Chase? Is it crank length and sprocket size, or is it a new flame on the backside? Whatever it is, I'm loving it!!
@SereneBobcat2 жыл бұрын
So is it a thing that need to be implied that Suarez did that intentionally, and not said directly? I watched both incidents in slow motion and I'm sorry if I'm breaking some racing etiquette but he 100% did that as revenge for what in the first race to me seemed like a legit accident. When I watched the first main in slow motion, Barry gets past him on the turn, but heading into the rollers you both lose your timing, Barry hits the first roller wrong, and Suarez hits the first two wrong, but Barry is head of him clean when Suarez mistimes the first roller. By the way the intro is sick.
@Hat-san2 жыл бұрын
One of my best friends used to put me over the turn many times. You could hear the laughter in his voice when it happened. If he was really doing it with intent he could've taken Barry to the pavement.
@moodyshooty2 жыл бұрын
100% it was intentional. To me, that's not racing. Rubbing is racing. Takeouts is petty. And from the videos I've seen, Suarez has a pretty sketchy racing style.
@Edwinalvarez0702 жыл бұрын
Willow's bike is sick, and I'm also very confused about USA BMX rules, it says you need to maintain your lane on the last straight, so basically you can't close any doors on the last straight, even you had completed the pass which is the whole bike I would think and not just the front of your bike. But from the comments on here and a few other places it seems like everyone has a different interpretation of this rule. It should never come down to another rider having to protest the way Suarez did. Wish you both good health and great racing the rest of the season. And you did bobble during your move towards the line Wich made you get closer than you wanted to but the intention was still there.
@barrynobles952 жыл бұрын
You couldn’t have said that any better. The pro side of the rules are a little different then the Ams I’d say but I did officially take the lead before the first obstacle. I did bobble due to tired legs over the table and did make a mistake by leaning more “right” then attended. I obviously instantly apologized to him. If he had an issue then he was free to protest and I would have completely understood. Every one’s opinion of anything but that doesn’t mean shit to me bc the only thing that really matters is if Suarez and I were cool before leaving that track.
@Edwinalvarez0702 жыл бұрын
@@barrynobles95 I'm sure anyone that disagrees with what happened have no I'll feelings for either of you, you both have a huge heart and passion for the sport, and all that matters is that you both are good with it. And it makes watching your races that much more entertaining.

Thank you 🙏🏼

On point, Suarez took it like a man but also handled it as a man later on. You can’t expect people to just cross their arms, he wanted to make a point and he got his a across. They both want to win really bad and this was a good reminder for both to know what to expect from each other. Both class acts I think, I like them both as competitors and wish them the best cause honestly, they make the vet pro class my favorite race to watch out of all the 100’s of motos every time they go to nationals. Great stuff
