What does it mean if they slot you into an afternoon audition firstly, as mine is at 2:00?

Hey Lucy, just wondering if in the recall for GSA, they've asked us to prepare a song from their list and our own contrasting piece did they ask for the song from their list or did they ask you to choose which one you want to do? also, in the acting recall did they want contemporary or Shakespeare? or do they just tell you to pick yourself?
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 5 жыл бұрын
I think they asked most people for their song from the list and then a couple of people were asked to do their other song too. I'm pretty sure everyone in my recall did contemporary

Did you take other clothes for the singing section at GSA or did you just stay in your dance clothes? And if so what did you wear?! X
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 5 жыл бұрын
Yes I did! I wore a dress. I actually have a whole other video where I go into details about clothes so hopefully that could help too!!! Xx

Hey Lucy, what questions were you asked at all your interviews with RCS? Was it mainly about your pieces or as you as a person. And were you offered a place?
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 4 жыл бұрын
Ohhh I can’t fully remember what questions I was asked. I think they were more personal yes I don’t remember being asked about my pieces xx

Do you have any idea how many applicants were there for BA acting? You said something about 500 and I was wondering if they were all 500 there only for musical theatre
@LucyStewartAdams

I’m so sorry I don’t know anything about numbers for acting! Wouldn’t want to just make up a random number and guess 😂

Hi! Thanks for the video! I’m about to audition for BA Musical Theatre as well, so I was wondering, does it have to be your own material (song, monologue etc) or can you choose different stuff written by other people and then put them together for the devised piece? Thank you xx
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 4 жыл бұрын
Hey - I assume you’re talking about the devises section for RCS! I think you can use other material as long as most of it is devised by you. From memory they do want you to have a stimulus so this could be a song, monologue, etc. Hope that helps a bit!

Hi. I’m planning to audition for the BA Acting course. This may be a stupid question but do you have to sing and dance for that audition??
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 5 жыл бұрын
I’m really sorry I’m not 100% sure because I didn’t look into these course! I’m sure if you email the schools they will be able to tell you!

Hi Lucy. Just wondering what course you auditioned for at RSC? I'm currently doing my application for the BA Drama course. But on their website they just say to have two monologues prepared. Nothing about a song...? Thanks in advance for your reply.

+Hayley Carson That's the course I want to go for in two years. But my problem with the musical theatre one would be that I can't dance to save my life.

Hi! I was just wondering what happens if you can’t sing at all, is it a mandatory step or is this for musical theatre?
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 5 жыл бұрын
For musical theatre yes it is a compulsory part of the audition. But if your strength is dance that’s ok!!

would you recommend auditioning for a foundation year rather than a 3 year course when you're straight out of school?
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 6 жыл бұрын
It’s really dependant on the person! I went to a very academic school and did academic a levels so was not in the right head space to go straight into a 3 year. Also I decided very late what I wanted to do so all the 3 year places were closed. If you can afford it then I don’t think there’s any harm in auditioning for degrees straight out of school as it’s great experience even if you don’t get in and then if you didn’t get in audition for foundations too. I hope that helps!! Xx

Thank you so much this is super helpful and something I've been thinking about for a while now. Do the foundation auditions happen much later than the degree auditions at most schools? x
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 6 жыл бұрын
Georgie J they usually happen throughout the whole year and got on a bit longer than the degree auditions xx

Do people go the rcs after getting their bachelor’s or do they go straight after college. Like how old are the people that apply.
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 5 жыл бұрын
There’s a mix as they do both courses! I applied for undergrad but there are also people who do MA
@vasorig1152

Is it very difficult to get in rcs ?
@LucyStewartAdams
@LucyStewartAdams 6 жыл бұрын
Most drama schools are deemed “difficult” to get into as they have so many applicants for so few places. However you can’t let that put you off because if it’s the right school do you the audition panel will see that!
