that about warlocks... exactly same thing said my old guild leader, years old guy who was always in everything right. Atleast he thought so. They could not kill heroic Gahoon. When I asked them why they dont use BL during stunned ghuun phase, they told me, its BS and that he is leader and therefore they do it as he wanted. Then another RL said, okay, we will try BL during stun phase. then, suddenly, they killed it. Then the same person was shitting on me, for dyiing and not doing enough dps. After I told him i did not get a single heal for 3 mins straight (not getting any extra damage, just the dot from wholeroom aoe), he said that shit about drain life (he was a monk healer).

That last story had to be the best story I have heard from Drama Time in terms of structure. Pictures were hilarious, the members were fleshed out, and it even had a happy ending! Someone should tell our wonderful storyteller to write a novel!

I once had a Casual guild. 2 hardcore players showed up and just started pushing people around. Then after like a week I got rid of them for being too toxic. They had already taken all the active players under the promise of carries. Their guild did not last. But It just reminded me how stupid this whole thing is.

I have been in more than one guild that people thought gems/enchants/potions/flasks were only for "min maxers". And it wasn't fair to sit / bench people that refused to gem/enchant or use consumables even after being reminded.

To be fair "Community matters" guilds never really work out in the long run, either it is a pass and go guild, a cesspool guild, or people make it more hardcore either with pvp or pve

And yet, the Circle Jerkies are still going strong with many (if not most) members having been around a good while (at least one full xpac or more) - guild never advertises for recruitment - and still having fun in the 1900-2000 or so mmr range. Have some harder core pvpers (Glads and R1s) that are just a much family as the casuals. Most "community matters" guilds are probably as you describe. I'm proud to say that the Circle Jerkies are entering their 7th year as the exception.

Here's what really happened in the coup story: -A guy joined some cesspool guild which was doing mostly some casual pvp -Instead of running away, tried to turn it into a proper guild by introducing pve -Suggested using discord instead of some shit curse voice, which the idiots running the guild took as a red flag -After a time, invited some good players, probably his old mates coming back to the game who had nowhere else to go anyway -The guild was doing fine, everyone was happy, but the old hags running it didn't like it so they removed all the good players to once again have fun in their shitty company PS. And then the author made up a couple things to make it look like a real takeover.

preach complainign about starting raid at 8:30 pm... thats normal for US guilds because you have east and west coast players in the same guild.. if WC has work or school you dont even get home til 8 or 9 EC time. I myself work from 8 to 4:30 and i get home at 6pm ish PST. EST that is already 9 pm.

Now that blizzard no longer gives a fuck about growing the subscriber base they measure the games success based on time played (which is why we've seen massive amounts of RNG embedded into every facet of the game now). Knowing that, I can almost guarantee that one of the biggest driving forces behind the master looter change is because blizzard realized that more people than ever are farming mounts/transmogs/pets and those people tend to stay subscribed for longer periods of time then your average player so there forcing personal loot to make it as hard as possible for those people to actually collect all the shit they want - keeping them grinding forever.

Max S. As a player, who's mained a lock since vanilla. The only area where your gameplay as a lock is effected, is of course where it does anyone else. Mechanics. But really, legion has been the most simple time for us, aside from vanilla, when all we did was debuff the boss so the mages would hit harder. Afflic, destro, even demo, really its a 5 or 6 button rotation.

I think the argument that the game "requires" logs to exist is false. FFXIV does fine with no official logs. It could exist, and the content wouldn't be quite as hard as it is now on DPS checks. It could exist, but I won't say it would be better or worse. However, it could exist. I really think some of the game direction went the way it did because of DPS add on/Parses. I don't mind logs, and I use one for myself in FFXIV, there is an argument for both sides of this one though.

FF14 also uses the same log website WoW uses, and ACT is exactly the same as Details and etc, using network data to register abilities. FF14 content isnt hard, its only made hard by the vast amount of underperforming players

And then this guy who put in all that work gets snubbed for some legacy officer that just happened to come back to the game? That story sounds like the rantings of an insecure GM who wanted all the benefits and none of the responsibility of running a functioning guild.
