A song with a simple idea but so profound in its simplicity and impact. For all of the criticism Elvis had leveled at him how many of us could bear the pressure Elvis had to perform maintain his life and just be Elvis. A life like his isnt all roses

You are right. I once heard: If you want to live his life, You need to have been born to his parent, have his siblings, his friends, enemies, grew up in poverty. With his fame, he could not go or do anything alone. Always being watch by people, reporters etc. No privacy. He could not go for a walk alone a the beach just to think. God gave him the gift of the voice to help people with his music and paid dearly for it. Mission Accomplished. All these years later, he is remembered and bringing nations together with his songs. God has bless us with such a humble man. That is what made him so appealing to people. If he would have been a mean, rude, selfish person. His legacy would not have survived.

You should absolutely check out all of his live performances and documentaries in full. Start here: 1968 - '68 Comeback Special 1970 - Elvis - That's The Way It Is 1972 - Elvis - On Tour 1973 - Elvis - Aloha From Hawaii And if you can find it, his final concert, recorded on June 19th, 1977, just 1 month and 28 days before his death: 1977 - Elvis - In Concert It's a tough one, as you can see Elvis is very unhealthy here, but I think it's worth a watch. Glad you got hip to The King. Cheers!

Agree entirely! Yes with the song but also with your wonderful additional comments! I think you would love the recent documentary about him called The Searcher. It shows how he learnt the way of singing from the black people singing in churches, how he lived a life wearing shoes we could never walk in and survive any more than he could. He felt so much it came out in his performances which is why we listeners feel so much when he sings. He didn't want to stop even when he was worn out because he didn't want to let those people down who relied on him for their living and therefore their family's security. He was something else, that man!

And just in last two years, I had a passion to read, find facts, past etc about Elvis, an I’m totally hooked! A great song, but even more so, a great message! I wouldn't have wanted to walk a mile in Elvis' shoes because I can imagine it was a hard life at times. As the old saying goes, "don't say anything if you can't say anything nice". We have gotten to judgmental and I for one have been working really hard to change that for myself. Because....I have not walked a mile in their shoes. We all have room for improvement don't we?! Thanks!

Happy new year Michael! I love calling you Michael because it's my brothers name. Yes it's a simple song and yes we should all know it but unfortunately like you said it's one we need reminding of all to often. I love your reactions. Yes I said love. Your real about things. You don't pay lip service to any of us but are always respectful even when you've been falsely accused of saying something that you didn't. You know I love my Elvis. He's my favorite singer. I do also like David Bowie , three dog night, the Steve Miller Band and countless others. Your channel is well balanced. You talk all you want because that's my favorite part of your channel. I like your input and adore those expressions you make. Your interesting and have a lot of musical knowledge. If I want to just watch a video I can go watch anyone I want. I enjoy the actual reaction part. After all it's you reacting to an artist I already know I like and hearing your opinion is the very reason to watch a reaction video. Whew I'm long winded today. Have a fantastic new year

Another meaningful song of Elvis. And also a very unterrated one. Love the poem at the beginning. I'm glad you choose this one to start the new year. It is easy to judge and sometimes we don't even notice, that we are doing it. And the anonymity of the sozial media makes it even easier, than ever. We want to be honest. But honesty can sometimes hurt, too. And where does honesty end and where does judgement begin. Not easy to answer. Because honesty is not the same for everyone.

Man, I love your reaction videos (especially the Elvis ones, cause I'm such a huge fan of his). Whereas most other videos just talk about how much they like the song or how great it is, I enjoy how you break down the songs intellectually, and talk about said songs from an artist's perspective, your history with the performer and such. It's much more interesting than the standard video. Also, I dig your Planet of the Apes poster in the back. Huge fan of that franchise too! Haha

Happy New Year! Joe South did this in the mid-60's & the song put into real focus what many ppl today have clearly lost sight of! I was like 16 but I knew exactly what the man was talking about! I have never ever put down someone if they're poor&begging, homeless, or ragged! That song says we have NO IDEA where or what that person has gone or is going through! Sometimes, handing them a jacket in the middle of winter or inviting them for a sit-down lunch is all they need to show them there are faithful &hopeful ppl still around! Elvis was the MAN!

Mr Presley was the most beautiful soul inside and out. He became addicted to prescription drugs which in his last year took over his life. The drugs helped him cope with his fame and non existent life, he didn't want to be Elvis Presley anymore and the life he had, he just wanted to leave it all, thats where the rumours of his still being alive came from. He died as we've been told sitting on the toilet on his own, surrounded by pills and syringes on the floor. What an end for a legend, he was always frightened of not giving a good show or being remembered, how wrong he was, if only he'd known there may have been a different outcome. RIP Mr Presley you'll always be remembered and always the greatest of all time ❤
