You are so on the point. I was raised on Elvis. I love what you're saying about Elvis. On of the things that impressed me so much is James Brown comments about Elvis. He said Elvis wasn't his friend he was his brother. He also said he didn't open the door for African Americans he broke it wide open. James Brown went to Memphis to view Elvis at Graceland after his death and broke down and cried for hours. Thank you for positive comments.

Ignorance runs rampant! I'm biracial and have dealt with that level of ignorance from both sides! The worst was my high school counselor, a white woman in her 60's. I was filling out college applications (me? A product of the projects on Detroit's west side)! I came to a section that asked if I was white, African American, Hispanic or any other Latin nationality, or Native American! I didn't know which box to check. So I asked my counselor! She said, "Well honey, what are you?" "My mom's black and my dad is white!" Under her breath she said, "You poor child - just leave it blank. We'll figure it out later!" So, yeah! Ignorance!

"Props to The Sweets too!". Yes. Everyone knew they sang with Elvis and thought they were great, but something that gets lost over the years is that they were among some of the BEST at what they did, and at that time among the most highly-regarded backing vocalists in Soul music world, backing other artists with their voices like Aretha, Van Morrison, Wilson Pickett, the Bee Gees, Solomon Burke, T-Bone Walker.... I mean if The Sweets walked into a studio it was prime time and they only made the other artist better. And I agree about the similarities between Elvis and James. James said it himself - "Elvis was a hard worker"

Good on you Michael. Yeah his band was born prepared for anything Elvis would pull on them, especially James Burton on lead guitar, and Ronnie Tutt on drums. Bravo!!!! Another kick-ass performance by Elvis and by your reaction! As for your opening statement about race, the idiot who called you "boy" is a racist his damn self. Elvis loved all people of all races, but he hated bigots and his fans know that. Which gets me how they idolize someone who was open minded and colorblind when themselves are closed minded and racist. A quote from Estelle Brown of The Sweet Inspirations "We once called Elvis boss and he said, don't call me boss. I'm not your boss, I'm your brother. You're my sisters. We're family!" They really did love one another.

DramaSydETV, you have found out what Elvis is all about by watching and listening to him, and that's what it's all about. Since then you have based you opinion on him from those observations, and that sir, is all that matters. I'm sorry to hear that some folks are not "content" with that. To them I say, please, listen and look to these videos! We all love the King! And be very certain that he himself would be very displeased with any kind of pack-mentality. If you love blues, gospel, country etc (and everything that sprang from it, including rock and roll) then we're all on the same frequency. Love and enjoy the great music that Elvis and contemporary artists delivered, no matter the color! It's among the greatest moments in music history!

It's hard to stick to this Internet rule, but you have to. Trolls must be ignored and blocked. And reported. But no direct interaction. No giving them airtime on your video! This is what they want. There is an element of the fans who are - well, you know what they are. They must be ostracized out of social media.

Thank you, I enjoy ur channel. I think some of those people need to think before speaking! Now with Elvis, I've seen him 5 times! I'm telling u the electricity he would bring before he even came on stage. Then the band starts playing the 2001 theme, Then all the flashbulbs start popping from everyone's camera! Then the screaming started from women, I also herd then some of the men would also yell out! Elvis was always a pure showman that owned the stage! My favorite one was 1971 he was healthy and happy full of energy! He sang every song with passion! Realy all the concerts were also full of passion! The years I saw Elvis Louisville, Ky in 1971, 1974, 1976 and 1977! I also Elvis in 1976 in Cincy, Ohio where Elvis split his rear end in his jumpsuit lol! But I always got my money worth at every concert I've seen!!

This song was a cover Elvis did of a song written&sung by Tony Joe White! Can I tell you something amazing: bc back in the day, '67-'68, we couldn't look up someone and see what they looked like, but, wow, his voice and the subject matter, made me think he was African-American! To top it off, he did a follow-up song called IT'S A RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA which solidified my thinking! Not until decades later did I found out he was a white dude! I was too much into black groups like The Four Tops, The Temptations, Supremes, even Lou Rawls! Do me a favor, workout looking at the man, react to his voice and tell me what you think, if there's enough BLUESY undertones to make you think it could've been a black singer! He was from the south some place, I believe I read somewhere! But, when Elvis did this song, Tony Joe White was very glad...he could've retired!
