My brother and I smoked 3 doobies and he picked up his guitars and we began jamming. Mom went to the grocery store and came back. She said we had been messing around for over an hour and to get the groceries in. We thought maybe 15 minutes of playing. My brother died in Nam 6 months later, I miss him everyday and have for 50 years. RIP David.

I'm 65, and this song was and STILL IS considered one of, if not THE BEST "ANTHEMS" of Southern Rock!!( Along with Free Bird of course) Thank you for bringing this true CLASSIC to life once again, by a band that has it's roots here in my area, Tampa Fl.

This music will never be done again. The tone they had...soul bending melodies that were songs within the song. When I first heard this as a teenager in the early 80s this guitar work brought a tear to my eyes. Underrated...under promoted and one of the greatest songs in recorded history.

You just witnessed 2 of the greatest guitarists to ever pick up a guitar, Hughie Thomason and Billy Jones. Sadly enough Billy committed suicide in 1995 and Hughie died of a heart attack in 2007. Hughie later went on to join Lynyrd Skynyrd for a number of years. The Outlaws were from Tampa and known as the Florida Guitar Army.

When I picked up the guitar, at 12 yrs old around 1980, THIS and RUSH were what I cut my chops on! Alex Lifeson of RUSH and the dual guitar onslaught of Hughie Thompson and Freddie Salem here, were the best teachers a young axe slinging kid could have asked for! Sonic GOLD!

Well, you just heard Floridas Guitar Army at its finest. Local Tampa legends, eclipsed only by Lynyrd Skynyrd as Florida music hero’s. The lead Strat master Hughie Thomasson, who later played with Skynyrd, Billy Jones with the black Les Paul, and Henry Paul on rhythm Strat, who still fronts the band to this day, playing the song that will be played at my funeral. Yeah they mean that much to me. I grew up listening to them locally in my teens, at practice and in dive bars before they hit it big. Still see them every year. You have now seen the best Southern rock and roll ever played. Welcome to the chosen. Love your vids too BTW.

Drama you are going to LOVE the good live version it's off the double live album Bring It Back Alive . No video but now you've seen it now it's time to hear it . That live version can't be touched it is so much better I don't even care if you react to it you just have to hear it for your own benefit . I saw how much you liked this one so I'm kinda afraid the version from Bring It Back Alive might might give you a stroke or terminal stank face or a heart attack or hemorrhoids or something but I believe it's worth the risk ! The studio version off the debut album is excellent as well ! P . S . You gotta hear You Are The Show it's a bit of a tribute to the fans and hell yes it jams 😁✌️ ROCK ON Little Wing

The Outlaws came out with their debut album in 1975. This song was on it, and getting radio play. I was 17, and LOVED it! Went to my first concert in September of that year. The Outlaws were opening for the Doobie Brothers. The Doobie Brothers big hit that year was "Black Water". I liked the Doobie Brothers, but went more for the Outlaws. GREAT show. I was hooked on concerts from that night on.
