That scream... One of the most primal, gut wrenching things I've ever heard come out of a singer. Makes the hairs on my neck stand up every time. She's one of the very few singers on Earth who can give me that reaction...

Janis to the next level for sure! I'm lucky to have been friends with Beth since middle school, she's a phenomenal artist, always has been and she's an incredible friend and human being. She's that person I wanted to absorb every nugget of information I could from as I knew I was with someone who had the special gifts nobody else had. She is the absolute best artist, I listen to her all the time and never get sick of her music, ever. She is one of a kind and Caught Out In the Rain is one of my favorites. She's been doing this her whole life, I was going to watch her sing at the Comedy Store in Hollywood when we were teens in high school! She's a natural pro, she's always been a pro, she's amazing in every way, I've always been and still am in awe of her.

I have followed Beth Hart since her domination of "Star Search" back in the day. She played Janis Joplin in an off Broadway musical about Janis called, Love Janis. She is amazing and watching her grow to this level leaves me want more.

I agree with your opinion 1000%. The one thing Beth Hart has over the legends you mentioned is this, she survived to tell her story. Brotha, it's one hell of a story and one hell of a women.

I've always said the same thing about Janis she says herself she was influenced by Janis Etta James and Otis Redding. We almost lost Beth the same way as Janis and I for one am so glad she made it past those demons

She makes you want to cry doesn’t she? Being an old Ilisten to her tears rolling down my faces. Happier and freer than I’ve ever been. The soft/ loud, high/low, tempo changes, pure notes grit and tremolo, build dynamic tension.

Beth is an astounding artist!! A "phenom" as you said. She is a 1 of a kind! She takes you along for the ride & she is driving crazy full force, no brakes!! I've noticed that there's not a lot of Beth Hart reactions. So I was pleased to find yours. I'll be delving into more after this for sure. The respect you showed on her vocals was refreshingly honest & raw! Thank you. This was a wonderful reaction!

No apology necessary. The first time, you reacted ... just that. I think Beth caught you off-guard, and you had to hear her and then process what you heard. You've always been an honest, straightforward person. Don't be hard on yourself. YES, Beth is still with us. Drugs took Janis and Jimi, while a helicopter crash took Stevie Ray. Beth has survived ... not just the years, but all the pain, loss, shame, stigma and bewilderment she endured for so long. Like Janis, Jimi and Stevie Ray ... the talent was always there. But Beth's still with us ... and now she's polished her gifts with her human strength, and bottomless emotions. Let's all just enjoy the ride....

I get what you are saying about the low voice in the beginning, but I would argue it's a have to be there thing. I wasn't at this one but have seen her do this live twice. It's a complete mood setter when you are there. It draws you in. And props for calling out the band. They are incredible and really good dudes. Jon, Bob and Bill. Great freaking musicians. And yeah, Beth is just the best. And I love the reaction. I like your take on things.
