Absolutely horrible game from the team. They looked sluggish and confused on offense the entire second half. USC has tremendous depth and versatility, but no real go-to star who can create their own shot like a Caitlyn Clark or a Rickea Jackson. Cardoza has to get the ball deep in the post, Pao Pao has to get picks for wide open shots. The only player who creates her own shots is Fulwiley and they desperately needed her to play more minutes in the second half because the team was a mess. If they play like that against LSU they'll lose by 20. They'll also get knocked out of the natty.

A little pressure on the inbounds pass and someone guarding the center is all they needed. With 1.1 seconds, that big girl wouldn’t catch the ball and try to dribble open and then get a “good” shot off in that short of time with someone on her. Even if she had to pass it off, there wouldn’t have been enough time. The TN coach called this lame play and that COACH lost it for them. They still had a non-shooting foul to give.

- Two missed freethrows - Fulwiley grabs the rebound, then double dribbles (missed called by refs, no biggie). - 1.1 isn’t enough time for a catch and pass so Why is Jackson standing mindlessly at center field instead of trying to make any inbound pass difficult? - You foul the player who would've had to heave it from half court. - Then you leave a player wide open on the 3 point line who has a better chance at making it than the potential game winning heave from half court. *Sometimes luck is involved, sometimes it's just bad decision-making and you deserve to lose. Exactly. And still had two time outs.....SMH.

Knaw c'mon, she absolutely should not be fired. That is extreme. I'm a gamecocks fan for sure, but I wouldn't have covered her either! She is not a 3point shooter, let alone a threat from there. Almost any coach would have made that same choice. You cover the 3point shooters, not the non-3point shooters. I am so glad they won, but I don't think you can get more lucky than that!

Why did South Carolina blow a 20+pt lead but Ig u givin them a pass huh 🤣😕

@@2thousand336Facts even Dawn Staley said in her post game interview she would've done the exact same thing 😂😂
@kidzbop38isstraightfire929 ай бұрын
@@2thousand336 there's 1.1 seconds left and you have 5 defenders for 4 players. Why can't you cover both the interior and perimeter? Why could not one UT player cut to the shooter when the pass was in the air? I would understand leaving her open if you have 5-5 (to doubleteam their threat player), but in this case, there was zero excuse not to at least stand near her. I agree that SC got lucky with that shot, but I do think the failure is ultimately on Harper. Good coaches make their own luck. Plus, it wasn't as if Harper was doing good anyways (she has NOT been a good coach in general).

In situations like this teams have to expect the unexpected… The way they did not even try to defend Cardoso is insane to me. They thought that she was not going to take that shot or thought she was going to miss. You can’t doubt in situations like this. Also, why did the coach have Spears foul Fulwiley? If that foul never happened the game would have ended and Vols would have took the win… Pretty careless decisions there. Yes, it might’ve been a lucky shot, but hey GO GAMECOCKSSSS ❤️❤️🐔🐔

So many are missing the issue. With a foul to give SC never gets a shot off. The Tenn Coach will never forgive herself. This is totally on her. Simply foul as soon as the pass is thrown in, I mean just hug each player (eg hack a shaq) and the game is over. This is all on the Vols coach.

Tennesse the only team in NCAAW who played them like this. I keep saying Rickea Jackson is one of the top 3 players in College Basketball she is a MONSTER!
@alakey929 ай бұрын
I 100% agree. Why have they not tried to recruit another player or two exactly on Rickea’s level is crazy. You can’t depend on one player alone for your team. Lucky she hasn’t dipped out of there.

@adamlake6215 You are correct! If Tennesse had at least 2 more hybrid players they a get past the Sweet 16 and Elite 8!

No defense and they had a foul to give with 1.1 seconds left? Wow such a blunder on the Vols but good effort on SC to finish with a W
