I am a Proud Indian but what Deepti did was unacceptable. There’s a thing called spirit of the game, people like you won’t understand. If we start applying doing such thing to other sports we simply just can’t enjoy any sport. Imagine all 11 players passing the ball to each other only and not trying to score in a football game, there wouldn’t be any goal but would you enjoy such thing?

Stealing a few yards occasionally isn't frowned upon too badly but if it's obvious and there's been no warning as a bowler I just stopped my run. That is enough to let batsman know they were taking liberties without actually stumping them. I would also consider doing that a couple of times as fair warning,

Come off it, she was leaving ever so slightly early. The done thing is to give a warning as a bowler, and the captain should have called her back. honor, shmoner all this honor of cricket is simply a sore loser. This is the only real way to teach someone to stay in your crease until the bowler lets go of the delivery at least. if you tell them the rule without reactions for ones actions, nothing changes however after losing your wicket and then the team looses the game i bet that will make you change the way you approach a game of cricket.

@@themafia3119 While the idea of sportsmanship is noble - it's not existed in the word of sport for half a century at least - now it's about gaining advantage or forcing an error in your opponent to gain one, even by using grey areas of the rules - though in this case the rules state that she was outside of the crease at the moment the bowler was in the crease with the ball in her hand - there's no rule that says a ball has to be bowled before it can be used to stump a player out. The error was on the british player for assuming her opponent didn't know this or would just bowl regardless of her being out of the crease. The fault was hers and hers alone - but she'll never do it again and if they are smart neither will anyone else on the team.

Anybody who states "Mankading" should be illegal, should also state exactly how far down the pitch a non-striker is allowed to go before a ball is bowled, and how would they enforce that rule, or penalize non-compliers. The current rule allows "Mankading" because zero inches is the only reasonable, and reasonably enforcible answer - as they prove repeatedly by never actually stating what law should replace the current laws on the issue.

absolutely. this batsman and all others too, must have taken this advantage for all the deliveries. especially true in ODIs and T20s. so why complain if they got run out this once time? or alternatively, reduce all the runs they took that way from the score. I am sure atleast, counting all the batsmen, 50 runs would be reduced. then let the batsman be not out.
