Unfortunately her mother who has cancer and begged in the media to see her daughter alive before she dies is no longer aware or responsive. She didn't respond to Noa as Noa came to see her. It's not clear whether she knew that Noa was freed. Also one of the hostages father died of a heart failure a day before he was released. Obviously I accept that casualties are part of war, but you can objectively see if casualties are being minimised or not. In this current conflict, the numbers are believed to be around 3000 Hamas deaths and 27000 civilian deaths. So I'll throw a question back at you, and don't dodge it, can you tell me any other conflicts in world history where the civilian death rate is NINE TIMES higher than the combatant death rate where it wouldn't be considered a genocide? Of course I wouldn't, and I have no love lost for people that are harbouring Hamas. But I'd have lost my soul if I started defending the murder of children because of the actions of a small minority. Hamas has stated that 270 people died in this rescue, the IDF has stated it's over 100. I'm happy that 4 innocent hostages have been rescued and I'm happy for their families I truly am, but how can you end up killing at least 100 innocent people while doing it if you're truly trying to minimise civilian casualties?

The vast majority of them do not care, even if it means prolonging the war and thus prolonging their misery. Even the children are taught not to care; they all know about the hostages. I’ll never forget hearing released hostage Mia Schem, who was also held in a private home, talking about the wife and young 10-year-old son of her captors constantly coming in and out of the one room where she was imprisoned, making nasty comments about her, her appearance, her hair (she could understand some Arabic), taunting her about being dirty and smelling bad because they wouldn’t let her take a shower, and pretending to offer candy to her then snatching it away. This is a horrible, cruel, death and violence-obsessed culture, that enjoys humiliating their victims. Why should anyone have compassion for them now, much less the Israelis?
