Using Topaz Labs Video AI - I'll show you how to upres/upscale your renders from 1080p to 4K, reduce noise/grain, optionally add slow motion, and sharpen your renders to dramatically reduce your render times and save money. I had to render this animation in 3ds Max with Vray and it was taking roughly 30 min per frame, and even then, it still had a lot of noise in the shadows and I needed to increase the Vray samples a ton to clean it up. So rather than waste money on a render farm, you can use Topaz Labs Video AI to clean up your renders (reducing noise, artifacts, and low samples) and output an EXR image sequence or Pro res video file.
It worked great for me - by rendering out 1080p and then upscaling to 4k - I saved a ton of time and render costs for a faster turn around. This video isnt sponsered - I just think it's a great tool!

Yeah the rendering times for the upscaling is rediculous. Thats why it pays to buy a dedicated rendering pc and use it for that purpose only. That is if you do a lot of rendering like me. I bought one of those highspeed cooling pads for the rendering pc (rtx 3070ti/ Intel I9), put a 5 gigabyte movie at 450 by 800 resolution in VideoAI to upscale to 2k (2560x1440) and either overnight it or 9 to 5 it. Either way 10 hours later I now have a 2k movie at about 20gb. And I then take this 20gb movie file size down to about 4gb by feeding it into Handbrake compression where it will keep the 2k details compressing it into much smaller files. That Hanbrake compression only takes about an hour though. I have a dedicated rendering pc, a dedicated DVR/tv recording pc and a regular everyday use pc. And they are all laptops.

450 by 800 look very low, how this tool generate details from this low resolution? maybe is ok for arch interiors wher eyou have lots walls and flat surfaces....right?

@@F99_Digital_Dance_Music_AI Actually it does a pretty good job of upscaling low resolution 450x800 vids. Not just walls and flat surfaces but also with grainy and blurry vids, and with the interlaced lines artifacts, etc. Every aspect of videos can be imprioved. AI (Artificial Intelligence) has come a long way in making this possible.

@@GoogleUser-yv7fe nice to know, i will test a scene full of details in 450x800 res and see what appen rescale it in HD. anyway im sure this new workflow can really change the rules of the little productions

@@edstudios is it there an optimization while using Enhancement Ai? I have the 3080ti with Rizen 7 5700X and 48gb ram, and while rendering a 4k video to 4k enhanced, I only get 3.2fps of render speed

@@TheAntagonistatwo This might seem pedantic, but are you absolutely certain that you've set the AI prosessor to use your GPU and not the CPU? It changed back to CPU for me even though I set it to use GPU previously.

Yo, if you want to upscale 1080p to 2/4k, how long do you think the render time would be for let's say 1 minute of an action packed footage? Thanks
@edstudios
@edstudios Жыл бұрын
I think this took 8hrs to render on one computer with a 3080ti. So maybe 16 - 32hrs based on 2k - 4k
