I think most of us are used to the same old toxic abuse stories where the male lead is unforgivably abusive to the female lead for years and then gets a ridiculous, unearned and undeserved “happy ending” usually without any actual work or remorse on his side. Bonus points if he takes the knife of forgiveness instead of actually having to work to atone for his sins. 😂 This drama, although still having the FL stay and suffer for 5 years, actually spent 3/4 of the drama (from about 41:00 on) realizing he was wrong, showing honest remorse, having to deal with the fact that the FL doesn’t love him and may get with another guy, and having to work slowly to a) respect her and b) atone before he gets a second chance. And for *once* the male lead isn’t an arrogant controlling AH for the last 3/4 of the drama! Refreshing. We are so used to the usual where 90% of drama is pure abuse followed by the male lead “realizing he was wrong” and calling it a “misunderstanding” followed by a barely-there apology and then 2 minutes later he takes the knife of forgiveness and all his sins are supposedly magically erased. 😂😂😂 I hate those. It was nice to see a ML actually show some honest character development.

Ps. Can you remind me why he loves her? I’m asking seriously because I can absolutely understand why he would feel guilt and shame for mistreating her when he finds out the truth (even though he never once felt bad for mistreating her during their 5 year marriage-which suggests he is not a decent human being). But given that he never actually got to know her, why did he love her? I feel like they never really had a chance to connect as people. He just was an arrogant AH, she divorced him and left, he finally found out the truth (something he never bothered to figure out before then), and suddenly he feels bad so he thinks he now loves her? Or maybe he missed all the comforts she gave him that he didn’t realize (like the soup). That’s not love.

@@stephanien6237 if you agree with me that love is indeed has no boundaries then you will understand Wang Hao Zen ML feelings towards Cai Cai Yun FL at the end .He never hates her from the beginning he just misunderstood her for being a scheming woman .(drugging him, forcing him to marry her by his grandfather and a 10 percent shares from the company) not knowing the agreement between FL and his grandfather. FL agreed on the other hand because she like ML and she just want to repay his kindness and agreed to help ML within the span of five years. When ML find the truth he feels guilty and as you said he missed her when she left. I re watch it again because it is really a difficult plot to understand but it's worth watching. Love is infinite and sometimes unpredictable it defines this drama .

Can we start having some dramas where the male lead is emotionally and verbally abused by the all powerful female lead for 2.5 hours and then they expect us to think it’s a happy ending because he takes her back at the end? 😂😂 Because it’s getting really ridiculous and overdone to have a constant theme of women accepting abuse from their husbands. What a disgusting misogynistic message. This male lead did NOT deserve a second chance. He spent 5 years degrading and humiliating the female lead. His arrogance made it so that he didn’t even bother to find out the truth 5 years ago but instead he waited until she left to even investigate. He never gave one thought to her wants, her needs, her background her feelings. He doesn’t just get to say “oops, my bad! Now take me back”😂😂😂 I don’t believe for one second that he actually loves her. I can believe he may feel guilty but that isn’t love. You have to actually get to know someone to love them and he never bothered. Pretending to love her is ridiculous. Also, I have almost no idea why she liked, much less loved, him in the past. But any love she might have once felt for him was surely eroded and gone after 5 years of emotional abuse. She deserves happiness and she definitely won’t get it with such an arrogant, self centered asshole like him.

I don't think he is that bad, first he is kept in black she didn't explain anything to him because she give a promise to his grandpa , what he knows is what infront of him. and after marriage she didn't along with him she just work hard forhis company not for their relationship, we can see he didn't cheat,and didn't physically abuse, he just getting out his emotions through the words , he said to his friends that he didn't mind that he designed, and we can see that pool scene he holds for her not to fall that's why I don't hate him. we have seen a lot of jerks he is not the one of them.

Also, the person who caused it is ready to transform and take all the steps to be a better person. Both have to work for it; if not, just walk away. I will say that at least in this drama (compared to 99% of the Chinese dramas I have seen) they at least tried to show the ML working to atone over weeks/months, not acting like the usual arrogant AH and assuming she has to obviously be with him-for about 3/4 of the drama! I’m used to the usual 2 hours of toxic abuse, 5 minutes of the male lead figuring out the truth, and then a half-hearted apology because of the “misunderstanding” and zero accountability or atonement by him, and then he gets a ridiculous, unearned and undeserved happy ending, usually because of the knife of forgiveness trope. Compared with these types of stories, this one was a lot better. I still am not sure I believe he actually loves her-more like he feels guilty over his abhorrent actions. (Which he would never have done if he were a decent human being in the first place.). But at least he worked for his second chance.

Ela resolveu vestir uma máscara e cumprir uma promessa. Ela não espera amor dele. Não demonstra e não busca. Ela nem sequer se sentia digna de ser sua esposa, no início. No entanto sofre. 5. Ok o roteiro tem muito de ridículo. 5 anos nisso. É demasiado. Mas as justificativas e comportamentos são lastreados, os diálogos elucidadores. Não é um texto banal e sem sentido, inacreditável como os outros do tema divórcio. Não começa com ele pedindo o divórcio e ao vê-la com outro começa a palhaçada do despeito como nos demais. Aqui há arrependimento genuíno. É o roteiro mais bem construído desse tema. As interpretações de ambos são bárbaras e verossímeis. E no universo dos roteiros de divórcios, dos canalhas omissos arrependidos, ele fez um caminho decente em busca de perdão. O resto, os demais, são o puro lixo.

❤❤❤It's a good drama, we have seen this kind of dramas we don't want fl go back but in this ml is not that abusive. We can see what he wants from his wife not a company managing person but he wants she truly love him not for show case of public, we can understand this when he talk to his friends and fl also love him but don't show that openly to him divorce is for their best. We can see he is not only guilt but loves her truly he didn't force or pressure but patiently approached her and she understands his intention and she can feel his sincerity. We see she never smiled even with his family or his friend but after she accepted him her face filled with bright smile really like that she loves him he loves her they deserved this second chance. Like this drama❤❤❤❤❤

Both extremely handsome main actor & gorgeous main actress gave such incredible performances, filled with heartaches, but with a satisfyingly HAPPY ENDING 👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻 Their kisses starting in the last 7:00 were passionately deep and so REAL (I believe I saw his tongue 👅 French kissing 😍)! Within 20 minutes, you should be able feel empathetic for both leads. If you can't, then you're missing the ML's perspective and might not enjoy the rest of the show. There are comments condemning the ML but none about how the FL's approach to things perpetuated the misunderstandings between them. I certainly felt for her, but I also saw the following: The FL is always cold and perfunctory with the ML. As he says, he never felt any signs of affection from her. She focused on working and building up her influence at work (he doesn't know it was for his sake). He doesn't hear her out about the evening he was drugged and she slept with him leading to their marriage, BUT she also doesn't tell him the truth (and correct him) about it because the grandpa asked her not to. From what the ML can see and feel, the FL has manipulated everyone into believing a fake outward show that she cares for him, when in private she's completely devoid of emotions. There is an extra level of hurt and torture in this relationship for him because he likes her. And the actor is absolutely fantastic at showing all of his bitter, conflicted, and resigned feelings with his eyes. I loved this drama. The path to reconciliation was relatively long and realistic. Once the ML's misconceptions about the FL are finally cracked, he works very hard to win her true affections and to clear up the misunderstandings she's had of him. He is consistent, earnest, and appears before her humbly. I appreciated how even his own family didn't forgive him immediately. "I want to win her back, not to hope that she continues to be good to me. I just want to give her everything I have and see her smile more." "I know, I never thought [she] needed to be only for me. [Their friend] is also very good. There may be even better people in the future. But before that person appears (she makes her choice), I hope it's me." When he thinks she's truly chosen someone else, he does actually respect it and doesn't try to change her mind at that point. Then we get almost 20 minutes at the end with them together sweetly, with a couple very realistic intimate moments. The only thing that wasn't great was that some of the episodes are out of order (about 30-20 minutes from the end) and jump around right in the middle of really important, tense emotional moments. Everything is shown, but it's a little frustrating and confusing.

Wang Hao Zhen is so handsome And Cai Cai Yun is beautiful I saw this a few weeks ago it's a hard one to review this drama has a miscommunication in it but even those it's his own fault he kept telling her he didn't like her that's why she never opened up to him. Este Minidrama con Ml Wang HaoZhen y Fl Cai Caiyun ya lo ví hace tiempo. Me gusta el 2Ml, pero Fl ama a Ml, y aunque él le dió 5 años de indiferencia y culpándola de algo que no tenía la culpa, sólo después del divorcio la empieza a extrañar y a perseguirla. He visto otros Minidramas del actor donde no hace de cabrón, incluso los de la era antigua. La actriz muy poco sonríe siempre la misma expresión. El actor es muy caballero con sus coprotagonistas y da besos reales. Espero verlo en otros roles.

Habituellement je déteste ce genre de masos- dramas. Mais celui ci tout en portraitant presque le même sujet, est beaucoup plus profond, humain à cause des rôles principaux acteurs. Par exemple le ML il s'aveugle en croyant tout savoir et il passe ainsi a côté de tout ce qu'elle fait pour lui même à côté du fait qu'il était déjà amoureux d'elle mais il n'est ni arrogant, narcissique, ou possessif. Non, il est sincèrement repentant sachant qu'il ne la mérite pas mais prie et acte pour une seconde chance. Et FL. j'aime ce personnage qui se définit si bien par ces mots "c'est ceux dont la dignité a été brisée qui revent du jour où ils pourront à nouveau redresser l'échine" ou encore " ne peut contrôler mon cœur mais je peux contrôler mon comportement" c'est exact, elle a pris un pari que je n'aurais pas pris, accepter de partager son lit alors qu'il était drogué, mais elle a agi en femme qui ose mais ne supplie pas marche fièrement sans plus rien devoir à personne sinon l'amour bravo. P.s. Vous auriez pu rendre le FL plus profond encore par exemple en marquant un vrai changement entre avant et après divorce , elle aurait pu relâcher ses cheveux changer de garde robe, étudier la psychologie pour aider les enfants kidnappés et leurs parents, monter une équipe d'enquêteurs pour retrouver les enfants perdus, élargir son cercle rencontrer de nouvelles personnes que ceux qui l'ont connue pendant ce mariage en chemin de croix, faire suer et trembler cet homme encore plus et plus longtemps avant de lui accorder une autre chance qu'il ne mérite bien sur pas mais ce qu'elle fait pour elle-même, il me semble qu'elle avait la force et caractères pour cela non ?

I'm very conflicted about this drama, because although I think the male lead was truly remorseful, it just doesn't excuse his being a total ass for 5 years. So many of these dramas show the man working as a CEO, making difficult decisions every day that affect thousands of employees and the whole company, but he's too STUPID to take the time to find out the truth about his marriage???!! This kind of plot is an insult to the intelligence of the viewers. The other thing I found irritating was how passive and submissive the wife was. I get that she was emotionally withdrawn, but a healthy person should vent sometimes and voice her thoughts and feelings instead of just burying them. There were times I just wanted to smack her and yell, "Say something, ANYTHING, for god's sake!!" If the writers wanted us to feel sorry for her, they shouldn't have made her such a doormat. Hard to recommend this drama.

Yes. But it is hard to find “genuine repentance” in the vast majority of Chinese dramas. Most of the time 90% of drama is pure abuse followed by the male lead “realizing he was wrong” and calling it a “misunderstanding” followed by a barely-there apology and then 2 minutes later he takes the knife of forgiveness and all his sins are supposedly magically erased. 😂😂😂 I hate those-the same old toxic abuse stories where the male lead is unforgivably abusive to the female lead for years and then gets a ridiculous, unearned and undeserved “happy ending” usually without any actual work or remorse on his side. Bonus points if he takes the knife of forgiveness instead of actually having to work to atone for his sins. 😂 None of that is “genuine repentance”. This drama, although still having the FL stay and suffer for 5 years, actually spent 3/4 of the drama (from about 41:00 on) realizing he was wrong, showing honest remorse, having to deal with the fact that the FL doesn’t love him and may get with another guy, and having to work slowly to a) respect her and b) atone before he gets a second chance. And for *once* the male lead isn’t an arrogant controlling AH for the last 3/4 of the drama! Refreshing. It was nice to see a ML actually show some honest character development.
