@@benrichards4554 I spent a bunch of time last night importing songs from my iTunes library into Drambo via AudioShare and chopping them into samples in the Flexi Sampler. I really like the workflow, but I wish I could scrub the playhead on the sample while I'm choppping. Or can I?
@benrichards45544 жыл бұрын
You can’t actually scrub the play head to hear where you are laying the chops, but if you move the play head and repeatedly trigger the sample you will hear the change in position. If you are using the slice modes and laying down slice points, try ‘auditioning’ them using the note - slice mode. Slice point-trigger-drag slice and let go-trigger. That’s what works best for me.

Hi Ben! Great tutorials you got here! I just bought Drambo and I have a question about the Flexi-Sampler...sorry if I missed it in this video. Is it possible to set the Flexi-Sampler to auto record every new pattern of a certain track, while deleting the old one out of the buffer? My goal is to have a buffer of a melody that automatically renews and is automatically chopped up in a certain amount of slices, so I can then play back those chops in half time. Cheers and keep up the great work!

Is it possible to do what you're doing around 25:30 - sequencing an external synth and recording its audio as an Aum FX - in Audiobus? When I try this, I'm only able to record into the 'Main' channel.
@benrichards45544 жыл бұрын
You may need to add the Audio Input module.
@benrichards45544 жыл бұрын
And if your auMFX is opening as an empty rack, then you can either add tracks to the main view as module, or open a new project in the familiar 8 track template.

26:54 How to save/export the recorded audio?
@benrichards45543 жыл бұрын
For now, there is an export audio option I. Drambo, but only for patterns/song. To capture performance, use screen record or use a Flexi module to record into…there are some auv3 apps that can record in master as well, like 4pockets multitrack recorder. Native solution is coming in next update.

Is the multisampler the way to go for recording guitar? Thanks for your help!
@benrichards45543 жыл бұрын
I think it would be good. I don’t know the time limit. Flexi only allows for 30 seconds of recording (but any file length can be loaded). I’m hopeful that some better recording options will be added.

Hi, First thanks for the great and informative content. I have a question regarding looping. Is there a way to record audio into the recorder/sampler and then have it immediately play that loop/sample back. Similar to a loop pedal functionality. I have been trying to figure this out but no luck so far! Thanks, Bradley
@benrichards45544 жыл бұрын
hi Bradley, there isn’t full loop pedal behavior in Drambo yet. But you could: lay down a trigger on a track, load in Flexi and record in on pattern sync. Or do similar with the Recorder module (plock record and play to specific steps). Sampler video kind of goes in to this.

Is there a tap tempo option to get a samples BMP in time as I cant find one in drambo.

No tap tempo yet. Host in AUM or other DAW for tap tempo currently.

Your AUM setup inspired me to connect the Drambo (on iPad) to OP-1 and send MIDI to it AND receive audio back via TRRS. This way I can sequence OP-1 with Drambo and record the sequence (as audio from OP-1) into a Sampler module on the same track ( the TRRS input is not supposed to work with the line level output of OP-1, but when OP-1’s volume is set low it kinda attenuates the signal so there is no distortion when recording to the iPad). The problem is that since both the headphone/mic jack of the iPad and the lightning port (with CCK sending MIDI to OP-1) are both taken, there is no way to monitor sound, other than visually by looking at an oscillator module in Drambo. I thought I could either use a simple headphone splitter with OP-1 and connect headphones to one of the outputs while sending audio signal to the iPad with the other, but ideally I’d like to monitor the audio inside Drambo. So I thought that a TRRS splitter that gives headphones and mic input would work when connected to iPad, but at this point it turned out that it is significant that the signal coming from OP-1 is not exactly correct and iPad doesn’t recognize it and switches to the internal mic as a source instead. So... hope you’re still with me... I thought that maybe I could use another iOS device to act as a host and receive Bluetooth MIDI from the iPad and send it to OP-1 via CCK - this frees one of the ports on the iPad and allows connecting headphones while still receiving audio through the other port. This has to be done in AUM. Now, finally I’m getting to the point: when Drambo is set as an AUV3 in AUM channel, it sends MIDI through Bluetooth to the IPhone and then iPhone to OP-1 via CCK and USB cable perfectly (with surprisingly low latency) BUT since it is loaded as AUV3 instrument it does not receive audio from OP-1. There just does not seem to be a way to set Drambo as AUV3 instrument in AUM and receive audio. Then I tried something different, simply created a hardware input in AUM and loaded Drambo as an AUV3 effect this time - now it receives audio BUT as an effect it cannot send MIDI. How would you go about figuring this out? I feel like the solution must be there ( other than using an audio interface) but somehow no matter what I do I’m missing ether an output or input (virtual or physical). I hope my explanation is not super blurry!
@deepseadiver81914 жыл бұрын
I’ll answer my own question and possibly save you some time. What solved my problem were the wireless headphones! I’m glad I checked again, for whatever reason they didn’t work earlier, I thought that they couldn’t be used. They have more latency than Bluetooth MIDI but for the purpose of this particular project they work just fine. Thanks!
