I literally have the hardest time trying to draw a cliff face, it always looks out of place, or has strange proportions.

My only problem when drawing rocks is shading, I know where to add the light, but the thing is that they have a lot of crevasses and weird edges

I want to try putting some of the ideas I've been cultivating for years on paper. For that, I've been brushing up on drawing and I've realized I'm utterly hopeless at backgrounds like caves, trees, urban, all that. All I can do is make a person or animal, which isn't really sufficient.

@@aviaviavian I have grown significantly. In regards to an Urban environment, there really is no better thing than to just look at the real thing for inspiration. Very difficult to draw it with a minds eye, so I solved that The guide this guy posted on rocks was actually a golden recipe for rock drawing. No longer struggle with it. Trees...yeah you got me there. I did make a beach background which was pretty good, but all in all I have improved significantly.

Not much of a tutorial. "Just connect the dots" - Mine looks like a bunch of squares and triangles. Would have prefered and actual tutorial on proper shapes. Rocks are so freaking hard to draw. At least your footage was in focus and not 480p.

Well all rocks are really are just a bunch of random connected planes BUT when making the overall shape of the rock is best to think of it in 3d space so you know which planes to darken and which to lighten
