seeing your vid explains how to use this app that none of the DaVinci tutorials have shown me…thanks!

This is great; I have just gone mad and ordered a modern camera lucida called a Neolucida just for fun but I hope it will help me do something similar. I am a bit hopeless with phones - (Old Codger Syndrome)
@tommullinerart2 жыл бұрын
I bought a camera lucida a few years back but couldn't figure out the angles for it to be useful enough for me. Hopefully yours will be better. I've also recently discovered using a 'comparitor mirror' like in the documentary, Tim's Vermeer. Have a look here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHrEg4Wcf6d7pqs

Thanks for the tutorial! What is the black pencil holder/crutch you are using?

It's a pencil extender from Derwent - here: amzn.to/3IPbtgr

Do I have to use the paid version to try to draw some of the photos I have in my iPhone library.. I could only see the rabbit and the shapes.

there is no demo version

I don't understand how, after drawing around the nose, you moved the image onscreen to have the glasses in the centre and still were able to draw in the correct place on the paper. Also, you have your glass covering the image. How do work around that?
@tommullinerart2 жыл бұрын
you have to keep moving the glass every time you need to draw where it is on the paper. then you have to realign your image on the screen to match where you've drawn to. Does that make sense? Draw up to the glass, move the glass, realign the reference image in the app, carry on drawing, repeat if necessary

Would it work better with a regular computer or iPad especially for a bigger image?
@tommullinerart Жыл бұрын
there is an additional app you can use for iPad for outlining larger artworks.

How do you import a photo from your iPad Photo library to Da Vinci Eye App located on another (second) iPad (or Android) tablet?
@tommullinerart2 жыл бұрын
you can send it to yourself either using an app like WhatsApp or email it to yourself

Hi i appreciate the detail review!!! Can you download it both your phone and tablet without purchasing the apps again? Or it will be just for one device per purchase?thank you
@tommullinerart3 жыл бұрын
You'll have to message the developer for a definite answer to that. But if I was to hazard a guess, I'd say that you can't have it on both devices from one purchase. If you have an iPhone, however, you can use both devices with the new mural app.
@eriche88703 жыл бұрын
@@tommullinerart I appreciate it. Whats the mural app?
@tommullinerart3 жыл бұрын
It's called Da Vinci Eye Mural Maker (I think) Only available on iOS devices kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHvWeniImqaMeqc

I didn't like it. but a nice idea, its good for small images. you would need a tripod device to hold your cell phone. Limited in drawing space without having your pencil bump the cell phone. Great if your eyes have trouble with small drawings.

My previous comment disappeared. How to you turn the image from landscape to portrait?
@tommullinerart3 жыл бұрын
You can rotate your reference image the same way you resize it. Click on 'move', then 'image' and use two fingers and manually rotate the image in the direction and amount you want. Once done, press 'lock' Hope that helps and thanks for watching ;-)

Why not secure the phone on a stand use masking tape to secure the paper...avoid all the fiddling with the alignment?
@tommullinerart3 ай бұрын
I see your point, but a stand would tend to wobble unless it is totally static. The slightest wobble would be exaggerated when zoomed in and would not be doable. Even if you can secure both the phone and the paper, you would still need to align them both to each other and adjust the scale to fit the paper correctly.

Why are you drawing your face on its side? I would’ve liked to see how to turn it right side up
@tommullinerart3 жыл бұрын
I turned the photo on its side because of the aspect ratio of KZbin videos. I wanted you to be able to see the whole screen/interface without losing it off the bottom of the screen.

I am sure this would be a very helpful tutorial but I just can't listen to that terrible terrible clunking pseudo piano noise. It completely swamps the low, almost mumbling voice of the instructor.

I have the iPhone one. I hate this app. Very awkward. Guess I’ll just stick to my tracing board. The strobe feature induces my seizures even when it’s slow.
