i’m in love with the clank bard edit: on the subject of horse pope, there was a horse in ancient rome called Incitatus who belonged to emperor Caligula. Caligula only ruled rome for about 4 years, but he’s well-known for being batshit insane - i bring this up because he wanted to make his horse, Incitatus, a consul (highest position in rome, second only to the emperor). he didn’t actually get to do it, because he was assassinated before the madman got an opportunity, but it is frightening how close he got tl;dr - roman emperor tried to give his horse the second highest position in the roman hierarchy, but was assassinated before he could do so.
