Can confirm that winter is okay for basking INDOORS under a HEAT LAMP, or our alternative which is just a regular lamp with an old incandescent in it, which throws off a stupid amount of heat. I time-share the warm lamp spot with our two cats, and we cannot recommend basking enough. If the environment does not provide appropriate basking options, store-bought is fine.
