Old skool! Love it. Narration is great, it's amazing to hear what you're thinking while you work. So instructive. Beautiful!

I picked up the Prisma cool grays off some video the drawing club (or something) watched in school. Used them well in studio that semester.

They're great, although I've heard the prismacolors might be being discontinued, so I may have to eventually change to a new similar pen.

Any chance there’ll be more physical copies of the megastructures encyclopedia available?

I'm hoping to start a kickstarter soon to see if we can get a second printing happening. Go to neilblevins.com and go to the contact page and send me your email address, Ill email when the kickstarter goes live. And thanks for the interest!

This should really come with a trigger warning Neil. There's nothing so disorienting for an artist than watching someone else draw who doesn't hold the pen in exactly the same way you do! Seriously though, very cool video and ship. We share quite a few little tricks I think - particularly the panel cut-outs and stuff, Star Wars influences I guess. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I enjoyed that.

Haha! Ya, the way we hold our pens is so personal, and I've seen lots of interesting variations :) Glad you liked the video, and yes, I was born right before the original star wars so that sort of ship design permeates my style. And certainly yours as well, I think you do a fantastic job of adding super hyperdetailed areas and then larger areas of less detail. Trying to find that perfect balance between the two is always a fun challenge :) Thanks for watching the video!
