Dear Anna! I love your work! It is stunning!!!! I work with acrylic and since a short time compared to how long I work with acrylics, with derwent inktense, too. I have the 36 set of the blocks and the 24 set of the pencils, cause unfortunatly I couldn't afford to buy the full set of 72 from both :-( although I would have loved to get them both! But I will hopefully get the full sets in time! I love working with inktense! Now I have 2 questions to you! First: what kind and brand of watercolor paper do you use and are you working with 140lb paper or 300lb paper? Second: I have a huge problem with tracing my image on the paper. I use Faber Castell watersoluble graphite for tracing my image on. But... It seems like I am sabotaging myself with tracing way too much on the paper, that when I start painting my subject, for example a falcon, I get totally lost and confused with all the lines and I can't remember what line is for what feather etc. It is a huge problem for me, cause it steals the joy for me painting with inktense! I especially have problems with that on feathers and fur! But I love painting animals, I am a huge animal lover! Now I hope, you can give me some advice on this. What Information do you trace or draw on the paper,so you don't get lost while you are painting? I really need your help on this, it's kind of a SOS situation for me! A week ago I was just a second away to through all of my Art supplies away and give up! I didn't, instead I painted a Baby Koala with inktense and on this one I traced less on the paper than I needed, but it turned out pretty well. But my started and not finished Falcon, with the too many lines on it, still lays unfinished in my closet where it's dark and dust free. It would be so nice from you, if you could help me out, dearest Anna! All advice you can give me is highly appreciated! And yes, I always have my reference photo right next to me while I am painting. Already thank you, dear Anna! Be blessed in all you do! Lots of Love from me, Manuela from Germany, to you dear Anna! Take care and thanks again!

Hi Manuela, I work with different cold pressed watercolor papers. At the moment I use the Hahnemuhle Britannia and Cornwall. I don't remember how thick they are, I'll tell you later.

I don't know what to tell you about tracing. I never traced. When I draw from life I do everything without any help. When I work from a photo, I use a rough grid, usually about 6x8 or 8x12. I don't really know how much I draw. I don't think about what I'm doing, I just do what feels right. And I don't think I do it the same way every time. I think I draw very few things. Sometimes I draw more while I'm working.

@@annasnaturedrawings7694 I have a unsteady hand, a tremor! That's why I am after those years still not near good at drawing. That's why I have still to trace from my printed out image on to my paper! It might sound weird, but through tracing, I feel more confident in drawing. If I trace on too much, I get confused by all the lines. But if I trace just the most important parts, like the generell shapes, where the eyes, ears, mouth are and how they are shaped plus for example my actuell project the red panda pair, where the red, white and dark fur is going; I still have to draw... with the pencils or the brush! Thank you for your kind and helpful respond and advice, dear Anna! Be blessed in all you do! Thanks again! Lots of Love to you!

I'm sorry about your tremor.I think there is nothing wrong with tracing, I just don't like to do it.

The Britannia paper has 140lbs, the Cornwall paper 210.
