I bought a Huion 13 on sale on Amazon a few months ago. I used it for a couple of days then put it in a drawer. The transition to digital art was a lot more intimidating than I thought it would be. But when I saw the course and brush bundle, I bought it, to give digital art another try. I made more progress learning digital art in 10 minutes than I did in several hours trying to figure it out on my own. If you're on the fence about whether to get it or not, especially if you're new to digital art, go for it.

The last match up was really interesting given The Hobbit and The Return of the King cartoons by Rankin/Bass were animated by Topcraft, a precursor to Studio Ghibli. Just wanted to toss this up because I was just kinda delighted by the coincidence.

These style-swaps are amazing. I always love seeing stuff like this, and we NEED another one in the future. I'd HIGHLY recommend adding Splatoon to the list. Not only do the Inklings and Octolings have pretty unique designs, but the official art style for Splatoon is SUPER unique. It's got those rough and uneven edges, the mix of hard shading and sort of sponged-looking shading, and of course the colors. This style really hinges on what brushes you use to do it. I've tried doing it with standard brushes, but it just doesn't work. I made my own custom brush though, and it makes things MUCH easier and a lot closer to the official style. It's just so different from anything else, and I think it's deserving of a spot on the wheel.
@James_XXIY_crafts2 жыл бұрын
Love all of the drawings, the reason why the jinx face was so difficult, is because her face was tilted back and her head was tilted forward, it is quite a common trap that most artist fall into, you need to see more of the under side of the chin, but you use the chin as a terminator, so something feels off, but it's difficult to put your finger on.
@creative_carrie2 жыл бұрын
Love it! Bringing the team in to the videos adds a whole new level to everything and shows how different artists work together, when from a hobby artist point of view is very encouraging to see from professionals that you aren't all working on busy your own projects, but passing the baton. I am so so impressed with all the end results. I relate to your coworker so much. I'm in the fashion industry and with Covid layoffs and fast turnovers this past year, I haven't worked up the level of experience a 28 year old would typically have, jobs haven't been secure since my graduation. I've worked for 7 brands-all for under year-since graduating in 2018. That means I haven't learned many new industry level skills from my mentors to be able to lead, and haven't had a long enough standing with any company to make an impact.I don't have the confidence or skillset from any jobs I've taken because I haven't had enough time to get training outside of my degree. And every company has a different means of production and style. Everyone does it differently so it's ground zero every time and I need to comply to their way or their style each time. I don't know what's normal or what's my style anymore. I've been told by jaded employers that the standards or style I learned from my professors in an accredited college (who were also industry professionals) isn't accurate or industry standard. And called conceited for thinking I was correct in adhering to what I learned in school, or for attempting to negotiate starting wages. I can be shamed by a new hire for doing things the way my last employer trained me to. That said, I LOVE and am skilled at carrying out and sewing work when other people come up with the designs and lay it out for me. I feel like I've been kept back or cut short when I'm already down, but know what I love and what I'm good at. Thank you jazza for continuing to be supportive in all aspects of the art community and giving people a chance!

Probably the better example for Frodo would have been The Secret World of Arrietty. Because fluffier hair for some of the charaters and also more homie clothing like a hobbit as they're the Barrowers. But you Did get it a bit closer to Gibili though there are nuiances that can be pushed to really be distictive such as the eye shape versus other animes.
