I had a similar design for Qwilfish's evolution for my own Fakemon region of Bermii (based off of Bermuda); Bloefish, the Water/Steel Naval Mine Pokemon. It needed to be traded holding a Metal Coal and know the 'new' move Detonate, a Steel Type version of Self-Destruct. It had the Abilites Aftermath, Iron Barbs, and the 'new' Hidden Ability, Barbed Debris, which would set up a Steel-Type Stealth Rock (like Copperajah's Signature G-Max move) when hit. Alternatively, it would set up a layer of Spikes.

Love them all! You know, I too had ideas for other Pokémons that needs more completed evolutions. Such as: - Forretress where its evolution not only allows it to fly, but also uses its wings as shields, and it has canons for hands. - Sudowoodo, where it becomes larger, and more tree like, and it becomes either Part grass, or Psychic Type. - Hariyama, where its evolution makes it part water type, since I liked how its trainer Brawley was known for surfing. - Toxicroak, where its hands become venomous claws, and/or gains blades on its forearms similar to Sceptile.

Your Sudowoodo should remain non grass since their gimmick is that they imitate trees. The others sound like solid ideas.

Glad someone is FINALLY giving the Drifloon line some love, Drepplin is awesome! I love the idea of this Pokémon (well known for supposedly kidnapping children) being a major form of transport (definitely no scandals involving missing passengers, right? wink 😉)also it looks kinda vaguely spaceship-like so I feel it could be perfect as an analogue for the Kennedy Space Centre? I’m curious how you imagine the logistics of how people ride it? Do they sit inside the ‘clouds’ or is there more of a Corviknight Taxi situation with a carriage that sticks to the underside? and Disqwil is probably my favourite Johtonian Qwilfish evo I’ve ever seen! awesome work as always!

If I might suggest an evolution method for drifblimb that would make sense for why we couldn't have it before, maybe have use a dusk stone at in harsh wind environment (like say at the top of a mountain or something).

or maybe give it a dusk stone after it’s effected by tailwind (which it can learn, or you can make use of another Pokemon that knows the move) since, recently, they seem to be stepping away from special zone evolutions (as seen by Pokemon that used to require a Special Magnetic Field being changed to just a thunder stone)

@@lilharm tailwind is a battle only thing, so unless i'm mistaken you can't use a dusk stone in battle (tho i quess if it was used in battle the evolution would kick in afterwards).

fair point. Another idea is maybe have driftblim hold a new item (presumably air or wind based one) and then give it the dusk stone (as oddly an evolution method requiring more then one item isn't a thing yet).

Though I absolutely love the designs could I make a suggestion? Most evolutions don't necessarily follow the same colours as the last. Maybe mixing it up a bit would make them look less like the last pokemon but bigger. Disqwill might look good with the yellow and blue swapped like electrode flipping. Love the work though :)

Dude I love the direction your designs took and the art is phenomenal. I think it'd be a fun gimmick if Drepplin should require a full team of 6 Drifblim's to evolve (combing into one and taking the nature & moves of the one you use the stone on). This occurring rarely in the wild is why the pokemon is so scarcely known. Disqwil as a water/steel would be such a strong tank

Can you do one for Weezing that uses his gas in combustion to give him the Fire-type, and it would also explore the idea of the three-headed Weezing, with two heads on the sides and the middle one been the bigger (and obviously main head) with a volcano-like hole on the top to spill the Smoke out of it. This idea is a instable in the Pokemon art community and even have people doing their on versions, plus with such a old pokemon like Weezing been very underestimated (but having a pretty interesting consept), it's good dispate already having a pretty recent regional-form in Galar.

I love these videos because you give such good advice about how to design Fakémon. From what the three starters represent to how cross gen evolution works. You truly do know how Pokémon work as a system. You need to change how you show where to find these Fakémon on the map because I couldn't see the marker until I went to full screen and squinted. I would think Disqwil would be a Water/Steel type since it's holding a metal coat when you trade it. I always thought about adding Scrafty to my main 6 team, now I have a reason.

Drepplin is an absolutely amazing design, i love the way you've incorporated the clouds to make it resemble the shape of a real life blimp, it fits the official style and even if i think the quad tail was unnecessary and something else' could've been done, the design is still wonderful and i'd want it on my team any day. Florasola seems just a touch overdesigned for my tastes and feels more like a digimon than a cute, simple pokemon as even the scary/more complex ones like dreepy or baxcalibur have simpler, cleaner shape language than this one. But Scrifraff turned out to be the comback of all time. I thought it'd also end up too over-designed with unnecessary details like the nose ring crowing the already very detailed face, but the final design reads so well, both the gradual darken from Scrafty's colour palette and the simple yet layered shapes that create a really interesting silhouette and a dynamic character. Well done mate, love the concept of cross gen evolutions rather than just regional forms, its a really hard task but you've done it amazingly. Really great designs, I can't wait to see what you make next.

As someone who's personally grown sunflowers, the idea for a Sunflora evolution immediately struck me: Sunflora gets pollinated/stung by the regional bee, and it undergoes anaphylactic shock as its face fills with baby Sunkerns. It's a bit insensitive to people with that kind of allergy, but if you've seen pollinated sunflowers in the fall, you know it's too perfect; some species nearly explode with how many seeds they produce. The reason you couldn't evolve it before is because the bees have to be native, specifically by getting hit with the signature move of of a bumble or carpenter bee Pokémon; Vespiquen and Beedrill are based on Eurasian bees/wasps. I think another fun design detail would be to give it the bodtype of a streetlamp, being super tall and thin with it's face hung over from the weight of all the seeds. Playing into the sun side could let its face even emit stored energy like one to help trainers navigate the roads and forests in rural areas that don't have artificial lighting. I think it would be funny if it still had the face hands of your design like a fusion between Hydreigon and Alolan Exeggutor. I'd call it Sunmora, which comes from it being the stage where new ("more") Sunkerns/Sunflora are born. I think Grass/Fire is still an appropriate type combo. The other three evolutions I think are basically perfect, though I have some minor ideas for Disqwil. Disqwil feels like a bit too much growth for a single evolution, so I think it would work best as the evolution of a regional Overqwil. That could also tie into how the evolution was discovered, being that the Gladeans used armored Overqwil to prevent submarine espionage in a conflict involving Tropore a few decades back, which led to an Overqwil's evolution into Disqwil when the armor allowed it to survive an accidental detonation.

Drifpplin is perfect! I would definitely use one since I have recently enjoyed using Drifblim. Sunflora needs an evolution and there are some very interesting ideas out there. Your explanation is spot on. Love Disqwil but its odd that it doesn't swap the poison typing for the steel typing. Scrifraff is cool because Scrafty definitely looks like a middle stage that never finished. The shiny on this one is DOPE!

I'm very happy with a qwilfish evo. I hate the trend of most regional evolutions being more stages than the original pokemon. Regionals aim to bring attention to old pokemon but mons like og farfetchd corsola and qwilfish are now even more overlooked. I wish all regional evos were like snealser or Runeregus

My new sunflora evolution for my own fakemon region, heliorash, does evolve with a second sun stone. It looks like a giant sunflora with red tips on the petals and its botom half turned to ash. The main concept for this evolution is that sunflora absorbed too much solar energy, so it burned. Its name comes from helios (god of the sun), flora (plant life) and ash BTW I would absolutely get a drepplin for my team

I was thinking that the evolutions cant be explained in previous gens (ie how’d you get that in gen 10, I couldn’t do that in gen 9) so I had some ideas Drifblim -> Drepplin - level up while learning the move Shadow Storm, a new move that combines the elements of ghost and flying in its name. It could be a move that lowers accuracy while doing damage or maybe it’s a special phantom force Sunflora -> Florasola - level up while learning the move Solar Flare, a new move that acts as a fire-type Solar beam. Maybe it could be the signature move Scrafty -> Scrifraff - give it a new evolution stone like the Grungey Stone (maybe it could be for poison evolutions + Scrafty, just like how the Dusk stone is for Ghost type evolutions + Murkrow) Qwilfish -> Disqwil - level up learning Barb Barrage , the current signature move of Hisuian Qwilfish Also these are great but Disqwil is my absolute fave!!

Hear me out... Disqwil could've been called "Underqwil". Other than being an opposite of "Overqwil", it can also be a reference to it being found underwater, as WELL as its new ability. As now, it doesn't take as much damage from its self-destruction techniques. Therefore, it "underkills" itself. Underqwil!!!

I would 100% be using a Drepplin and a Scrifraff on my team, I've always liked Drifblim but it's just not that viable even in playthroughs, and Scrafty has just always felt like a middle stage to me and I always wanted more out of it and they're both great evos

While not my favorite by any stretch I unironically like Qwilfish, he's simple and I like his colors. I didn't fully appreciate him until Gen4 though when he could run Toxic Spikes, Waterfall, Stockpile, and Minimize. Intimidate and Swiftswim are also great, and the physical-special split made him stand out a lot more from Tentacool. I don't really like your evolution for Qwilfish the sea-mine idea is just overdone. But I also really dislike Overqwil... Florsola looks weird, I think just the main face is too complex? Drepplin and Scrifraff look really cool.

The Disqwil evo's face is wrong imo, the face should be the same colour as the belly, with the exception of above the eyebrows. Otherwise, great design!

one rather dumb idea is, since the gladea region is based on florida, to referance Blue Öyster Cult the band, due to them making a fairly recent song called "florida man", based on the meme of course. In the aforementioned song, the whole Florida Man phenomenon was explained by a seminole man cursing the conquistadors and their children. I could see a mon being based on this (perhaps a water/ghost oyster that evolves into a more humanoid form wearing conquisatorian armor?)

disqwil should have an ability called "Fume" or "Disengage." Fume- When using moves like "Explosion" "Destiny Bond" "Boom Burst" "Self Destruct" the user has a 30% chance to badly poison the foe. Disengage - enables multi-strike moves that hit 2-5 times per use to always strike five times, while also giving this moves a 25% chance to poison the foe.
