FYI to anyone coming by this video - these lessons and bunch Jung Gi goes over in his streams are from books by Marcos Mateu-Mestre's - "Framed Perspective Vol 1 & Vol 2". My girlfriend got them for me for my birthday after KJG talking about them in a video. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

There's something about the way he draws and his tutorials, it really makes me so focus, the way he draws things it's so interesting. At first I thought it was gonna be quite hard for me to understand since I'm not that good at English, but it's not. I find THE WAY he draws is charming.

I have seen some demonstrations of his technique where he imagines each figure is in a box or rectangle, then, based on the lines going through the box at exactly the same height on each side, one can determine the trajectory of the perspective line for each feature of the character. Basically he is always thinking three dimensionally, imho.

So can there be unlimited vanishing points? Or does it have to be set amounts? Like here hes got like 4 at some point in one of the drawings
@salty_3k5062 жыл бұрын
Theoretically, each object can have their own vanishing point irrc, depending on how it turns in space

One thing I dont understand though is about the chinese wall he started at 11:26, does each box he drew have its own vanishing point when theyre in a circle like that or do they all lead to the same one?.

@futurestoryteller3 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's redundant but he never explains where to place the feet. He just draws lines of different sizes across the plane and says "This is 180cm." Most teachers when explaining this concept specifically place the examples in a kind of single file line toward the horizon so it's more obvious how you determine the exact height.
@JTT126 Жыл бұрын
Late message but if the eye level is established then as long as anything touches that eye level it’s gonna be that height. Doesn’t matter where the feet is
@futurestoryteller Жыл бұрын
@@JTT126 You could place two characters' heads of the same proportion, right next to each other and one of those person's legs could go all the way to the bottom of the page, while the other only goes halfway.
@JTT126 Жыл бұрын
@@futurestoryteller yes. It would work according to my understanding of this concept. Assuming the floor has an even slope

i have a really stupid question, how do you decide, how much is 1,8 m or 1 m, as he decided in the video. Such a great video, I guess I just need to watch all of it again. Many thanks for sharing.
@christyhap Жыл бұрын
you decide for yourself based on the size of the paper/canvas you are drawing on.

Why is there multiple vanishing points?
@hyperabs4950 Жыл бұрын
Because not necessarily all of the z-axis sides of objects inside a view are going to be parallel aligned.

@thatonefrenchguy18064 жыл бұрын
Your perception of the horizon changes depending on your eye level
@salty_3k5062 жыл бұрын
No it's not the same. But in my experience it only really applies when you tilt your eye level or use distorted perspective. But usually if you're looking straight at the horizon, it will overlap with your eye level.
