I feel like that was because of the lighting. Glados was wearing a lab coat which is basically the same color as her skin, and lab coats are usually white, so I think that it's just that the lighting lighting makes her skin look grey.

My favourite character design was the ‘Ender Girl’ I thought it was really neat and had a somewhat realistic effect. He probably died(assuming becuase of the age of his mother/about 40 years of age)about maybe 20-ish years(tho it maybe be less because in the start of the game it says '201X' or something like that, sayings this is the time chara fell and chara was there for about 4-5 years, but that's a theory...
