I always saw Eda’s curse as a an analogy for something along the lines of ADHD, with her taking medicine to avoid it taking over, and it being something that has accidentally caused pain for others (which some people with those struggles can have a lot of shame around). Therefore, Eda coming to terms with that part of herself and learning to treat it, (and thus herself) with kindness, can be seen as a message to other people with struggles like that, to be kind to themselves. Bc making time to take care of the mental struggles and mental disorders in your life and being kind to yourself, can make you see the ways that it makes you strong, and how you can grow with it even if you’ll never be without it. And that’s not a message of “just look on the bright side then it won’t be hard”, bc it still IS hard. It’s just that there are some sides to neurodivergency that are also pretty awesome. At least I think so. And personally, Eda helped me embrace that

Eda’s curse is an amazing allegory for metal disorder, of any kind. And it makes me feel so happy seeing her come to terms with it in the end and becoming stronger because of that fact. One of the best representations of trauma and nerodivergency is any show in my opinion.

I like the parallel to mental illness that many see in eda and her curse As someone with mental health and meds for said health it's nice to see representation of that that isn't in a negative light and out of everything in animated kids show

Eda’s curse as I’m sure you’ve noticed is heavily compared to a disorders (mental, physical) where even in the first episode we find out about her curse she says something along the lines of “having a curse isn’t easy, but if you take the right steps then it’s manageable.” This show combats different topics beautifully and shows that something that makes you different and that what may at first tear you down can then bring you back up through acceptance and understanding. -it also shows that in some cases that using medicine to ignore it doesn’t work because it only dampens it (and that can hold you back in Eda’s case, where she’s always wary of what will happen if she doesn’t take the elixir until Harpy Eda.

It's really cool cuz it feels like a representation of disability, as you could see edas mum was similar to those people on Facebook trying to solve people's "problems" without their input or want and often failing anyhow, just causing more strife. Eda had her way of coping/living with her disability and as she comes to terms with having it, not seeing it as this horrible thing, it was easier and better to live with than just shoving all thought of it away and treating it as something so othering, as a monster. The thing is the curse is neither a superpower nor is it a terrible thing to change, it's just neutral and i love how they presented that with her speaking and communicating with it to get the best results. Especially as an autistic person i love seeing such things as i can relate it to my own experience as well! Of course it's difficult to live with but there's a bit of good and all the neutral to balance it out, and showing understanding and commoditization to help keep situations under control is the best thing to do

I always saw the curse as a metaphor for chronic illnesses, physical or psychological. As someone who has both, i can relate to Eda's struggle and her pushing away people to avoid hurting them. I wouldn't say the curse is a good thing or that it's only bad because Eda was handling it wrongly. I think that it has minor benefits too, though the disadvantages and pain would still outweigh them.
