An expert will always make it look easy 😂.However, I am wondering wether the gel pen is of Archival quality. If not the brightness of its ink is probably gonna pale to yellow after a few years. Doesn’t matter if the artist considers this of no concern. But if it is then use something like Titanium White by Brush and Pencil 🙏🏼

Thank you for sharing. The result is incredible. A couple of comments. I think the side of the hair you started with and made of those mistakes is the best. It has a 3D effect because of all the layers of mistakes. If you redo this drawing, I would repeat those same mistakes. The result is significant to me as the last side is particularly flat looking. I also think your technique has a significant amount of brush work so in reality it is a drawing/painting. Freeman is also one of my favorites and he always exudes a grandfather figure to me.

Cool rendering skills but what you're doing here is nothing but a photo copy especially using the squares method. This is when what you're doing stops being an art piece and you lose your identity as an artist cause there's so many that do the same thing as you do.

You could of you a pen that didn't work in indented the paper for the hair to leave the white in the paper Permanently and the white pen which would of been faster I think for the hair 🤔

How come ur 3b or5b graphite pencils give such dark effects, mine even 9b remains grey even after applying a lot of pressure on. Where I m Wong?? Is this some other kind of pencils, or a difference of the brand

Yes, it depends on several factors such as pencil brand, paper texture, shading technique, etc. you have to experiment and see what works best for you.
