Using references is never cheating! Literally all the classic masters used references and afaik for Disney 2D movies they would record stuff in simple live action to use as reference. It feels like "using reference is cheating" is something that's come from snobby social media circles bc all art teachers I've had and art teachers I've watched videos of always say to use references. Also I love your art so much and great video as usual!

your realism practice has really paid off i think !! i know you said your style has felt confused lately- but i think that's just a sign of growth in art. i was surprised by the thumbnail alone tbh, the face shape you chose is way different than what we usually see from you. it was refreshing to see something kinda new ^^ i mean this all in the nicest way possible i swear

Hi Ayeoops! I suggest looking up some talks from Loish. Her art style changed in terms of college as her teachers kinda discouraged her main art style. I think you’ll be able to relate to a sense. Anyway, thanks for the video - love listening to these ❤!

omg I just found out about you today whdvjwbed but honestly, I wish you the best of luck on your art journey and college! @@ayeoops ahhh, I believe if it's a recreation/it's been changed it should be okay. If you're worried you could always put it out as free and credit the original creator for their texture as well. Although the changes that you've made is still considered as your edits.
