ohhh Whisper of the Heart is also my favourite Ghibli film because it's so relatable for teens who don't want to go the conventional path! I love Ghibli's fantasy pieces but this one is just so realistic… also Country Roads has never been the same after this. So excited to watch you draw now!

Can't agree more!! I watched this while I was in animation school and related to her sooo much. I like other fantasy pieces too but this one is very special to me. Also country road just makes me think of this movie too 😁💗

Whisper of the Heart is my favorite Ghibli movie too! The plot line and feelings of the characters are so much more relatable. I think that's why I love it. Don't get me wrong, I love all of their other movies too. This one is just so different. Thank you for painting these scenes! They turned out beautifully 😍😍

Beautiful! The colors you use and watching you paint/draw are so soothing. I really admire you and your work. I also loved your review for the film. I don't think I appreciated the subtle meanings in certain scenes like you did (like the bike ride uphill) and now I really want to watch it again!

I don't use any specific blending marker, I just blend with any marker I draw with :) Any Posca ones are good for blending

Hi Angela, I discovered your work recently and it's just stunning. I'm just starting with poscas, but I'm a linocut printmaker for a living. I always keep away from portraying films even though it's something I would love doing because I'm worried about copyright issues. Is it ok to do our own interpretation of scenes from films and selling them? I can't find a clear answer to this online. Thank you so much for putting these amazing videos online, they're a treasure!

Hi there! To be honest I didn't find a clear answer to that on the internet either. I tried selling some of my ghibli studies as postcards and then I didn't really feel comfortable doing it so I stopped. I think for smaller artists, the Japanese studios won't go after you? So it's up to whether or not you feel comfortable doing something that's in this gray zone.
