Absolutely BRILLIANT, and the time lapsing was perfect. You explained everything very well. I'm trying to draw my Rottweiler, and I've been having trouble with the muzzle and her nose. I'm not very good at portrait drawing, but wanted to at least try it. Thank you for showing your technique. Bryan Zehner

@@PersonalArtwork Thank you. I have my degree in architectural drafting and design, and one would think drawing would come easy, but let me tell you... they are 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMALS.!!! Trying to draw my dog's portrait has caused a lot of headaches, and minutes and minutes of arguing with myself.!! Lol.... Have a great day, and thanks again for your tutorial.!!! Bryan

@@dbackfan9894 I have been there many many times. I no longer draw/paint portraits, long story.... but many times I have had to walk away from the easel and come back to it with fresh eyes. Take your time. A little tip... Turn your work and the photo upside down. Look at the shapes, tones, reflections, shadows. Try not to look at it like a face. You will very quickly see your proportions, if they are correct, the rest is easy!

Thanks Katie for the very informative "nose" tutorial. I haven't seen that particular technique used and found it extremely valuable. I, too, am very anxious to have you do a full dog portrait tutorial. Your work is amazing and can't wait to see more.
