"If you find something tricky, then you shouldn't focus too much on it." THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I tend to get bogged down by "tricky" bits, then I lose what I'm going for - the overall feel of the scene. I'm going to put this on the first page of my sketchbook in large letters and attribute it to you, Koosje. Thanks, as always, for another brilliant Tuesday full of tips. You're the best!

Looks like a bit of an a-ha moment. I love that!

I am the same when it comes to the 'tricky' bits. I need to remember it's a sketch and does not require a full rendering of all the details.

I did this for a sketch book that I took on holiday. The pages with the color turned out to be the most interesting. Thanks for the tips!

Hi Dear Koosje !What a charming little painting ! I love that idea of doing a wash and finding ! When I paint with acrylics I always have to have the canvas painted in a bright orange colour as a base otherwise I will not get inspired to paint !! I always have them ready for use ! Having this idea for my sketchbook is fantastic using different colours to suit one’s mood ! You look as lovely as ever !! Hugs.... Lorraine 🥰💐💕🎨

Thank you for showing how you got your brush ready to paint. I see you make many dips in the water, many dips in the paint to get the right consistency and color you want. Thank you for this demonstration.

Thanks for the video. I am spending the New Year in the seaside town of Whitby in England and I am planning to do some sketches. Many of the buildings I plan to sketch are built in stone and I am now looking to use this technique to sketch them.

Thanks for this demo! I’ve experimented with wash background and I like it. It helps make an empty page looks good with just like drawings. Doesn’t feel so empty 😅 Can you do a DTT on tips for drawing water scenes? Eg: Running water in a stream, splashing wave on the beach, calm lake with reflection of the mountain. I’m interesting to know how to draw these with just lines, and not be intimidated by hatching lines

The blue wash with the continuous line technique to capture key elements of the image are good reminders of how to bring interest and fluidity to the drawing. Hope you visit the ‘States’ in the future for an on-location sketching program. Thank you…Happy Spring🌷from Upstate NY

I did what you suggested on your other watercolour wash video a while ago and coloured some pages. I like finding them and just working in pen from time to time rather than using colours too. Makes a change and is less demanding, particularly on "those days" that happen to us all when we are pushed for time or are feeling a bit overwhelmed about what to draw! Thanks, Koosje!

Wow, how can you draw on watercolor like that, I think when the paper gets wet it will be very difficult to draw on them. Maybe you use a brush that can do this, can you tell me more about the type of pen you are using?
@KoosjeKoene2 жыл бұрын
You need to let it dry completely before drawing on top.
