It looks easier than it is but it is a straightforward and simple method :) Just be patient and do your best! I have drawings sometimes that I start and have to redo them 4 or 5 times before I actually get it right haha.

Great tutorial!! I still using the famous grid method, takes a lot just to start the draw
@SchaeferArt
@SchaeferArt 6 жыл бұрын
Hope it was helpful! Just in case you might not know, one way to progress from the grid method is to slowly start using less lines and bigger squares on your grid, and you'll start developing more hand-eye coordination :) Anyways, have fun either way!

I usually use the ruler to measure the height and width of objects. It’s pretty useful but your idea is awesome! Using just your pencil to make proportions is quite difficult for me but I’ll learn it slowly! Also can you make a tutorial on drawing full human body proportions? Like on which length the shoulders, torso, legs begin and such. Thank you! ❤️

Glad to hear! I'm not too sure about a livestream date at the moment. My girlfriend is studying for finals for law school for the next 2 weeks so don't have much time unfortunately. As soon as I can though, I might do one. What would you like to see in the next livestream? I'm always open to ideas :)

How would this method work in the case of different perspectives? I’m assuming that the subject in the front will always be bigger than whatever is behind it so would you mess with the sides that you ‘locked’ to adjust to that or what?
@SchaeferArt
@SchaeferArt Жыл бұрын
I'm sure what you mean exactly. This method basically flattens everything. There is no 3D or perspective, it's just focusing on exactly what you're looking at or seeing.

This is a good tutorial. What is your opinion on basic proportions? Some people try to defend the method with their lives, but I think it is a confusing and therefore bad method to draw portraits.
@SchaeferArt
@SchaeferArt 5 жыл бұрын
I think they can be slightly helpful, but yes, it's better to just observe your subject.

Can you make a video on how you discovered your talent?
@SchaeferArt
@SchaeferArt 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think I discovered my talent. I started drawing around age 4 or 5 and got encouragement from my family and just stuck with it and improved my skills over the years. Hard work and putting in the hours. Patience. That's how I discovered my talent.

where is another video to explain how to measure the proportion?
@SchaeferArt
@SchaeferArt 5 жыл бұрын
This one might help further: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6vbXmOZi52Uq8k You can use anything to measure - a ruler, a pencil etc.. it's about a relationship between two measurement distances.
