Its actually a map of mind. Im not sure but im getting Sigmund Freud popping into mind? Sorry, too lazy to look it up right now, but if you want to investigate yourself, keep in mind that what he said actually comes from a very known and respected psychologist whose name i dont want to remember, even if he thinks he made it up.

coming to this in 2025, this is such a nice way to ground yourself and really center yourself in the moment as an artist. ive been having a really hard time just being in the moment. even watching the video i scroll through the comments. leaving myself alone with just me a pen and a piece of paper, especially a smaller paper like a sticky note, its a really nice meditative session. i love that you tell yourself its ok. im a super perfectionist and have a REALLY hard time being ok. even if i dont feel like its ok, im trying to just tell myself out loud its ok whenever i do something i thought was a mistake. dont dwell, move on.

For me drawing from observation can be really therapeutic because I don't have to think about what to draw. When I doodle I tend to get bored before I'm done and then I don't like the doodle. I can draw from imagination, but only if I already have a good image in my mind. Never really like how it looks when I just try to place lines haphazardly or automatically hoping to be inspired or for it to look like something. You have unbelievable patience for doodling.

I hope people realize the brilliance of this man. He is like a modern day Mr. Rogers for people of any age from 3 to 103. True genius is being able to make yourself understood by any person of any age, gender, race, social status, IQ, educational level, or religion. This and part one should be part of any scool program, therapy program, television program. It can benefit ANYONE. He makes a lasting impression on you, and it is so important for everyone to realize we are all ok no matter what our feelings are. This drawing can be a most effective outlet for any feeling....even no feelings at all. Thank you, Peter. Everyone, please pass this on!

I didn't mean to analyze your drawings but I couldn't help but noticed that when it's a positive/happy/about your day-thought you tend to do circles or lines without an open end. That's interesting. I've read somewhere the meaning of circles in peoples lives not just in drawings - it means safe, secure - You know... because you don't have sharp edges to get hurt on. Sorry maybe I'm overanalyzing...

You feel like some kind of painting everybody is judging admiring and observing. Some people love it and some people hate it. But you still feel forced to put on a fake smile in fear of others thinking something is wrong with you. No matter how much you wanna stay in your safe space alone and care free. You can’t.

I would like this man to walk into my house at least 3 times a week to just have a conversation with. I want to tell him my woes with the world, my anxiety and worries, my depression and my hopelessness, and at the same time, my hopes for the future. My dreams and aspirations and passions and hope. And at the end of what will inevitably be hours of me venting to this man, and his angel soul listening patiently, soaking in every word, he pauses, as if he has to think of what to say. But he always ends up saying "and that's okay. Everything you just said is okay, and it's okay to feel that way. You're not freakish or wrong, you're okay" That's what I want So TL;DR I want therapy

How does one overcome what we may have been taught as kids not to waste paper or ink or supplies. It is a real deterrent to art to have in the back of your mind that every line must be right. Seeing you go thru a stack of PostIts triggers that feeling that makes me go around turning off lights and turning down the heat. I have this block of Arches paper I can’t bring myself to use.

Just do it, honestly. The only way to overcome such fears/obsessions is to dive in deep. It's there for you to use it so just go ahead and use it.
@saintt9044
@saintt9044 5 жыл бұрын
Year late, but this has been haunting me lately. This may not help everyone but I think of it this way: those supplies you don’t want to waste are already garbage in a sense. Raw materials have been harvested and processed to make them, mostly on a massive scale. They’re not special, they just exist now. If you bought them or they were given to you, that’s it. Your only responsibility now is to keep them, or dispose/recycle them responsibly. So why not use them and make it worthwhile that these raw materials were used up? It’ll make you happier that you did. It’s more of a “waste” to let them sit and loose out on the items and yours potential

Find really cheap supplies to start. Maybe a really old pad of paper or some supplies you already have. Maybe use a broken pen or something you find in a junk drawer. Then go. Let out your pent up emotions. If you're feeling worried about wasting supplies. Project it onto your art. The more you do it, the easier it will be to "waste materials"

It’s crazy how much I can be thinking and feeling and then start to scribble and look at the drawing and realize that that’s just how I feel. I can’t explain how I feel but the scribbles somehow show how I feel, even if it isn’t an actual picture. Even if I can’t decipher what it is or make it an object it’s just a feeling.
