I love the Drawmer gear, very musical equipment, I have 7 in my rack now and number 8 will be the 1978. Awesome company that even has spare parts available if you ever need those. Great stuff 👌

We really love the Drawmer line as well. I (Ryan) have the 1974 sitting on the output of my summing mixer in my studio. Also use the 1978 (great comp)!

Hi Ryan - great review of the 1977. I would like to get into hardware but have been stuck on where to start. The 1977 seems like a great place to start given the specs and price. Would you recommend this for hip hop vocals?
@FrontEndAudio Жыл бұрын
Definitely. The preamp is super clean, the EQ is musical, and the comp is punchy. Pair that with a 251, C800. U87, etc....... would be great on HipHop vocals.

@@FrontEndAudio Thank you, Ryan. I will certainly do that!

I have a question....i was wondering is the output mono or stereo for my mx pro 60
@FrontEndAudio11 ай бұрын
The 1977 is a mono channel strip. Thank you!

Hi Ryan, how would you say this matches up against the Britstrip?
@FrontEndAudio Жыл бұрын
They offer many of the same features, and are both made by great companies. The major difference will be in the tone. Obviously the Britstrip is going for a vintage Neve 1073 tone. The Drawmer is more of a musical hifi character. The comp can get punchy, the EQ is musical but clean, and the Saturation circuit has a more growling distortion to it.

The phantom power light flashing as you step through the 200, 600, 2.4k is rather disturbing. That's not good for a mic.
@FrontEndAudio8 ай бұрын
Phantom Power is not active, and does not reach the mic until you switch the setting to "Mic +48V". Nothing to worry about when an LED is simply displaying a setting change has been made.
