It’s rare to find a painting that is better (or more beautiful ) than a picture , this is one example of it

Sebastien Lajoie Thanks, I was aware of the portrait video. Wish I had the 100$ to spare, instead i bought the Geneva brush dip to support Mark.

+Allan Turk Good stuff. Very nice of you. I bought the video of the Landscape because that's what I was doing. Did you bought the paint???
@mokujin42798 жыл бұрын
Sebastien Lajoie Nice dude. No, but once my batch of W&N paints run out, I may consider ordering some. However, I sometimes work in layers and if I'm correct Geneva paints are specifically for a wet in wet style. Happy painting!

I wish you would upload more lessons on this channel, or even on your website. I personally would pay as much as I can to learn from your lessons. You're helping me and others who are passionate about painting so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Great video, I have seen lots and lots of horse painters, many in photorealism and they will do all the detail at the beginning. they paint so that one area is completely finished before moving on to the next one and it was making me think that I should do it that way, now I know that I don't need to. One belief of mine that you have really shattered is that in order to paint a horse you have to know them very well. A lot of people try to paint them but because they have no knowledge of horse and haven't spent any time with them the paintings end up looking wrong. I am surrounded by horses every day so see it straight away. You have completely changed my mind on that as yours is one of the best I have seen. Thank you.

WOW- you painted so slowly & carefully but achieved the whole head in a short time. Thank you!!!

Haste makes waste. Also some edits I'm sure. But notice no corrections or do overs! The "Wham,.. bam; Thank you ma'am!!" approach often does not work for realist painters like Mark. He is deliberate in all his work on any subject matter.

Bravo Mark! I am becoming inspired to convert a spare bedroom into a studio. It's been a long time coming. I appreciate your painting wisdom and your willingness to share this with the world without wanting to make big bucks for doing it. I also appreciate your curiosity and willingness to learn even though you are at the top of your game. You are a gift to the world. Amazing work with this horse, brilliant, and magical.

I paint horses and this is the best tutorial for that I have ever watched. wonderful artist and oh my, those paints look dreamy! might have to try them! I've begun a limited palette and it will free you, as an artist. great job!

Yep...over blending is my forte, I get so lost in my edges before I know it, it's all murky. You feather the tones into one another with 1-3 strokes at the most, whereas I tend to keep picking at it. This, along with your other demos, really helps me understand exactly what I'm doing wrong....As always Mr Carder, you are the master!!!....A trillion thanks👍👍☝

Thanks Mark your painting is a revelation to me. Always worried about too much tuition would destroy my creative individuality especially in heading for realism. I was frightened to go to oil painting and become to be too bogged down by technique etc but you’ve blown that fear clean out of the water.....as I say it’s a revelation and by sharing this you are doing an amazing thing!...Understand now why Whistler used such very long brushes.

so glad I happened upon your web site......it is awesome. Just watched you paint the horse head with the dark background.......amazing.....what a joy to watch that horse come to life. I am a very amateur painter with no real training at all, just a wish to try to paint some of my critters, mostly horses and dogs.... with a very limited budget and some health issues I am so thrilled to be able to get some help online. thank you so much for sharing..........J.R (judy) Colorado

Mark some teachers says that you need a focal point and that focal point should be where you have the edge clear and where your brights are brights and your darks are darks. What is your opinion on that.
