Great Video again. But two little corrections: 180 is NOT the general minimum approach speed! Take your approach speed from the checklist or the white lable under your left sidewindow. In normal flight it depends on the payload and ranged from 180-210kts. 180kts is ok for a totaly empty plane but really near the stallspeed. Second: The horn you hear at about 15:02 has nothing to do with any GPS or radio cases, the plane warns you, that you are near or in landingconfig, and the thrustlevers are in idle without gear down :)

Yknow DC Designs, I was actually worried about the FMC that it would kind of ruin the plane because it wasn't the exact real thing but you guys actually handled it really well within the MSFS limitations. I'll be looking to buy this soon!

Thank you for this - the only issue I had was when switching to RAD, it didn't work, so I changed the 'NAV 1 ACT' frequency to the correct ILS frequency in the MCDU on the RAD/NAV page, and then it worked. Before this when I set the frequency up on the console, on the RAD/NAV page it was showing the correct frequency in the 'SBY: 1' slot. I made both NAV 1 and NAV 2 Active frequencies match the ILS I wanted just to be on the safe side.

Questions: (a) why do you need to set the course for the ILS ? ILS only has one direction. What would happen if you didn't set the course? (b) why do you switch on autopilot 2? What's that actually doing ?

The Concorde has a distance to go indicator below the Mach speed on your centre pedestal, and an A320 ND hidden away on the left.

How do you know how far you are from the destination? normally I normally use the ND display in A320.

Currently the distance to go calculation of the Concorde seems broken so you need to use your navlog and calculate your distance

By the pilots left elbow is a small nav display. If you have your destination set in the computer it will tell you the distance also the bottom right has a “DME” that shows you distance to final destination.

This is pretty cool, I haven’t used any flight sims since FSX about 8 years ago, thinking about getting back into it, question .. why do your shadows on the instrument panel bubble/flicker? That would drive me nuts .. a real immersion killer, in FSX we didn’t have cockpit shadows of course, is there some kind of fix for this in MSFS .. nvidia graphics settings perhaps? Can you turn off cockpit shadows in MSFS settings? Thanks and nice landing 👍

It depends on shadow definition on the panels which on some aircraft is admittedly not great. Running at higher graphics settings certainly helps!

For some reason, my Concorde always has an issue, where if I want to turn off my Engines after Taxi and Stand, Engine one turns off as expected, but Engines two to four somehow magically stay active, no matter what I do. Even "Hardkilling" them with the Emergency Shutoff does not work. Did anyone ever face a similar problem and perhaps knows what I am doing wrong?

Not sure I like the fms. Concorde had an INS system not an Airbus style fms. Could be a little more authentic. However, nice video very much enjoyed it

I can't figure out where to find the name of the current targeted waypoint, I just see a DME to it. If I wouldn't use an external map tool, I'd have no idea where I am at any given point and when to start descending.

On the centre pedestal underneath the altitude and speed indicators there is a distance indicator (albeit not always accurate). On the left-hand side there is also an A320 ND hidden away which is far more accurate.

How does one get SimBrief to generate sane flight levels/fuel loadouts for the Concorde provided below? The plan it generates also calls for M 0.85, and that seems silly to fly that slowly in a Concorde.

Unfortunately you can't. Use it for the routing, ignore the speeds and altitudes.

Hi Drawyah, first off...lovely tutorial...awnsered a lot of questions...im on my way to EGLL watching this in cruise to learn the landing. One question comes to mind..I cant seem to find a Distance to Last waypoint so I dont know how far im out...am i missing something? And my Mach and Altmeter seem to be shut off...yellow black sign over it. Any ides? Again thanks for the tutorial

The distance gauge underneath the MCDU is faulty, do not go by this. When you set your ILS frequency you can see your miles to airport on a gauge above your heading indicator. There is also a small GPS on your left-hand-side which shows your routing and distances too. On this occasion I based my mileage on Volanta and the tool I use for livestream overlays.

Are you (or anyone else in here) also experiencing the Concorde being unable to follow a track or heading? It just keep either overshooting or infinately S-turning for me. Worth noting is that I am on the beta update at the moment, so I guess the underlying default autopilot could suffer from that.

There is a small switch to the left of the autopilot panel make sure that it is in the INS mode

I can’t get this plane to climb to 58000 for the life for, it always levels out around 54-55000 feet and refuses to climb any farther on every autopilot button I try

That is fine on Concorde, it cruised at a block between FL450-FL600. It won't reach full climb based on your weight, you are potentially too heavy at that particular stage of flight.

180 is your minimum approach speed and should only be done on final. Anything before then it will be below the stall envelope.

Actually not all that difficult, I found the Darkstar a bit more of a challenge to master. My only issue with the Concorde is there's no speedbrake or way to slow it down other than idling and raising the nose to brake using the airframe.. Unless I'm doing it wrong?

The arrivals page should become available when you are at cruise and therefore able to set it up. Can't be configured before departure!
