Nice tutorial. Interesting fact. Concorde only taxied with 2 engines started. The thrust was overwhelming with all 4 powered up and pilots could not steer it. Both inboard engines were started after pushback then outside engines were started prior to line up on the Rwy.

Curious then, why the offical British Airways flight manual tells the pilots to start all 4 engines prior to taxi?

All 4 engines were used to taxi for take-off. First the inner engines started at the ramp. After pushback just before taxiing the outer engines started. After landing concorde was very light. So to taxi back to the terminal the inner engines shut down and the outer onces were enough. This makes taxiing at very light weight easier and safed fuel.

That’s completely wrong. Concorde could not start its engines by itself, she needed at least two engines started by (one on each wing) ground air start on the ramp. After push back, she would cross bleed to engine one and four then taxi to the runway. She would only require idle power to taxi. Only after landing when she was light on fuel did pilots normally use only two engines for taxiing.

This plane is heaps harder to fly than an F16, F14 and a 747 combined…. I need to actually set time aside to study this one. It took me 15 minutes to get a 747 going and made a successful flight from DET to Heathrow and had no issues. The Concorde took off on its own little adventure while flying and I lost my heading and track of where I was going from Heathrow back to LaGuardia. This thing is kinda complicated to fly, especially for someone with 52 flight hours and 35 of those are in a Tomcat 😅

Don't forget to turn on the 4 air bleed valves. Don't think it matters in the sim but its a good habit to stay in. Oh and make sure to put the fuel transfer switch in aft so that it automatically balances the tanks.

And change the Flight Rate switch from Climb to Cruise on the overhead.

My mother and I had a dream of flying with this beautiful plane … but unfortunately we couldn’t afford it back then and it’s too late. 😢 My pc is currently dead so no flight sim fun for which sucks a lot since I would LOVE to fly the Concorde. I love a good challenge! 😎👍🏽✈️⚡️

My father did worse. Back in 2000 he was offered by his work a return flight to New York, outbound British Airways 747 upstairs business class, return on Concorde for only £100. It was something they offered as a bonus extra for staff, instead of mailing letters and parcels across the Atlantic between their offices they would reward staff with a cheap holiday on two of the highest quality trips at the time. He turned it down because 1. He doesn't like America and 2. He thought Concorde would fly for years to come. Now he regrets turning the offer down. 😭

I m so done with this plane. I m following all the steps that you on the climb to get the A/P on, but its simply not working. A/P 1 is on and all the things that you turned on are on in my plane, and the plane is descending with minus 3000 and going in a very hard left bank. I dont know what is wrong with my Sim or with my plane, but this is below the limits.

Great tutorial! Having a weird issue after installing Concorde for the first time last week, my vis/o lever seems to be registering as flaps and not moving when i try to adjust. Any help with this would be appreciated!!

It's not a bad aircraft. Certainly not study-level, but loads of fun to fly. If you need to spend £30ish on a plane, you can do a whole lot worse in MSFS!

Was it worth the wait? While the is a definite eye-candy factor on the outside view, the interior - where the actual flying is done - is very iffy, reminiscent of FSX.

But the answer to your question if subjective. It's not all about the gfx. The flying experience counts for a big part of it and in that respect, it's worth buying. The cockpit is plenty adequate gfx wise.

Any suggestions on Overspeed going off while at Mach 2 in DC Concorde? It's insanely annoying and I haven't figured out if it is a bug or an error on the user end. I did utilize their checklist step-by-step and, unlike other posters I've read, was able to achieve Mach 2 flight just fine. How did you not have any overspeed tickers on your instruments?

I don’t think the Concorde has different speed terms than every other airplane. V1 is before VR which is before V2. V2 should be higher than VR and much higher than V2.

Check that either you're inputting this info correctly or your AIRAC cycle is not too out of date. It could be a case of you using older data which might not exist!

I cant even get to the FMS because the pilot avatar is in the way. I set the pilot and copilot payload weight to zero but they are still there. Not one thing in this vid about that.

That's an odd one, setting the pilot weight to zero should definitely hide the avatar! Perhaps check if there's an update?

The altitude you're flying in might not be sufficient enough to exceed Mach 2.

You need to switch to Mach for high altitude speed. Airspeed will only go so high and certainly not to supersonic speeds!

The views cannot be shared as they are hard-coded to each aircraft. You will need to set these manually.

That plan isn’t right. Concorde only flew two tracks. One outbound and one back. You can get the actual routes online. They did not change tracks daily.
