Love when Dray said "did I slap him or did I nick him?". He's right. Look back at videos of flagrant twos on those types of plays the past few years. There have been a lot of flagrant twos on a strike to the head defending a layup. They are basically full force, wind up, punching motion or chopping motion from a full extension, could knock a regular guy out kind of strikes. Looks NOTHING like Drays defense, which looked like a pretty normal play that missed.

My rather optimistic take is that Dray was "braking" his flop-fall, out of a basic ethical courtesy to all NBA players to help them prevent injury to themselves.
