They run this against every team in the league and it works a lot. I have dissected the game of almost every player in the NBA to see how to best defend them and stop them from killing you. There are only two players that I seem to have no answer for, not that the other players are not effective, but these two players are ridiculously dangerous with almost playing with anybody on their team. Steph Curry and Luka because of the 3-point shot, there are plenty of players who can shoot the three, however the way that they understand the game and know how to deploy the 3, also mix in a consistent two point shot to destroy you is next level innovation of the game itself. This is what is causing confusion even to the Hall of Famers on the panel. They have never seen anything to this magnitude. This is why these two players can drop big numbers anytime during a game. What do these two players have in common. Patience! They make you pick your poison leave them open and you die by electrocution. Double them and you die by lethal injection. There has to be a sense of irony in Chuck giving advice on defence. On top of that, advice on how to defend guards. Is it that difficult to acknowledge that a read and react offence with three shooters on the court who only need a speck of sunlight to get their shot off leads to all undesirable options for the defence resulting in the inevitable slip-up. You simply cannot defend every move and counter well when you are facing dozens of them in a single set. Prime Barkley would be a huge liability out there if you had him defending the perimeter.

Nobody hedges anymore. It's all about switching nowadays. If there was a hedge, Klay was gonna get the backdoor anyway. Weakside defender should've rotated. That leaves the weakside corner open though so it really is a pick-your-poison situation with Steph out there. The best thing they could do in this situation is just switch--no hedges or traps--and pray Steph doesn't hit the contested jumper.

The reason Curry and Klay broke the game is because no shooter in history has been that good from nearly anywhere on the court. The "Curry effect" is when the defenders have to choose between an open layup, which is a 2 or a "Curry layup" which is him making a 3. You should listen to coaches like Ty Lue and Pop talk about this because they are the ones who actually make plans against Curry. Lue said it once too, even with KD, they would double Curry and let KD have a layup if he was getting it because Curry will make the 3 and then you're down 1 extra point. There were frustration plays made by Denver and the Wiggins dunk was one of them where they were busy complaining to the refs, but for the play which they were discussing rn, Kenny was right.
@theoneaboveall67682 жыл бұрын
The problem team will have now is everyone is athletic and moving. So the second someone loses sight of anyone then the D breaks down and everyone in warriors is elite passers at this point now and will find the open guy. There is no team that keeps constant moving 48min a game that can shoot over 40% from 3 over 50 from field. The only problem they will have is big man that’s about it. Other then that this team is 2014-2015 warriors like now. i think Kerr should take a page out of pop book with ginobli and let Poole start to keep his momentum and curry of the bench for second unit for a lethal blow. teams are not ready for this. having curry on a second unit is huge. Ginobli of the bench made pop get couple more rings so Kerr should know he was there. i truly think that should be something to consider. Specially if curry drops 30 in 20min 🤣😂🤦♂️🤦♂️ I mean wow. If Kerr coaches the right way this post season the warriors might go for a title but will see still early. I hope they sweep the nuggets and get some rest. Rest is always welcome
