Stephen Curry conditioning is on a whole different level. And to see how strong he’s become for his size without having to change his game is simply amazing. Seeing how he’s filled out his physique has been great. A lot of younger players need to take a page out his book so they won’t get gassed during games.

I've said this about Steph, especially seeing his growth physically over the past 3 to 4 years, he's one of the most FIT ATHLETES of any sport of ALL TIME. Don't just judge Steph of the past couple of years, the man has been in the league 14 YEARS. 14 YEARS of pretty much CONSTANT MOVEMENT, getting knocked to the floor, putting up 1000's of shots a day, workouts damn near every day for years, and playing basketball pretty much year round. And, to top it all off he does it all with a SMILE. CHEF CURRY BUILT DIFFERENT YALL' AND THAT'S PUN INTENDED...THE MAN HAS PUT IN THE WORK. Carry On...

Physicality is such an underrated factor of basketball. I think the lack of physicality of KD is why he’s never been able to get over the hill without GS. When he’s the CLEAR focus of the opponent, he struggles constantly getting to his spots, because as Draymond just said, he can get knocked of his spots. He’ll still put up 30 but on much decreased efficiency and that goes overlooked. He’s only shot more efficiently in the playoffs vs regular season twice. Once in 11-12 when he led OKC to finals and on GS. Dude has no strength.

Remember Michael Jordan hit the weights as a result of the Detroit Pistons targeting him because he was not as physical as most players. Like Jordan, Steph got that message. Although teams STILL, FOOLISHLY, try to physically "outwork" Steph, his conditioning wears on a team.
@malkurnegus9fothadon980
@malkurnegus9fothadon980 9 ай бұрын
That getting physical thing is just teams reaching for anything to slow him down or contain him. It's out of desperation plus they know he doesn't get foul calls like other superstars, so they can get away with it. In reality, that getting physical shit doesn't do nothing really. He faces defenses like that all the time and still light they ass up.

Steph knew he had to get bigger to be affective, obviously he’s the greatest shooter of all time; but his weakness is physicality. That’s how the Rockets almost beat the Warriors when Chris Paul was there. Now he’s a man compared to when he came in scrawny little kid still. reminds me of Kobe and Jordan when they knew they had to get stronger. Kobe when he came in as a rookie air-balled those shots simply because he wasn’t strong enough, so he went straight to the weight room. Jordan knew he couldn’t be the bad boy pistons if he didn’t get stronger so he hit the weight room. The great go to another level when it’s time!!

Doesn’t overtraining and potential injury happen when people are working out hard every single day , before the game , after the game also, etc.

Don't underestimate the level of recovery available to him (massages, ice/hot baths, machines etc etc)+ all the supplements he takes.

And they say Steph ruined the game of basketball. Steph has been doing it since he can walk while putting consistent effort and discipline. While every young baller tries to imitate Steph without putting the work. They're thinking they can shoot from deep by going to the gym after watching his highlights.

I've heard so many athletes say they work out every day.

This is true and we all have witnessed it. Its Jordan level but he is under 6'6 and isn't as athletic. His off the ball game and endurance is what Reggie Miller was like. Curry will be great in amy era and he is the son of a respected NBA player who played against Jordan. Each generation influences the next.

whys it seem steph’s shooting fell off since he started working out more? (obviously still an elite sharpshooter, but his shot selection was looking a lot different this year)

Steph already put this theory to bed. He said his added muscle doesn't affect his shooting at all. He even laughed at how ridiculous it was. The problem with some people is that y'all read way too much in things and reach. Y'all overanalyze things too much.

Isn’t it unhealthy to lift weights *every* day? I always thought that recovery periods were necessary in order to benefit from weightlifting and to avoid injury.

for the average joe yes. but he does a lot of recovery stuff and his diet is probably hella good, the hours of work he puts in probably goes hand in hand with the amount of rest/recovery.. also the human body is very resilient, so eventually it will adapt and grow (eg bodybuilders and marathon runners)

@@thenameisboi7770 body builders need rest day in able to build muscle lol. Muscle need to recover 48-72 hrs lol, if he lifts everyday its not enough for muscle to recover, doesnt matter how rich u are or what u eat. What recovery are u talking about?

I think a lot of people think of general lifting when they say weight room but we need to think in terms of basketball lifting. 2 very different philosophies and muscle focus. Ive done both and basketball lifting is more about endurance and flexibility of your muscles and joints. they do actual lifting as well but they have tons of specilaized workouts to help with the in-season grind

if Kyrie had this work ethic especially in the weight room, he would have more chips and be more durable. instead of lifting in the gym(cuz his hoop stuff we all know he works on those), he's out here tryna be Martin Luther Irving
