Yes, the lore is confusing and the franchise is still updating so there are things that are controversial or unanswered. But this is the best estimation at the events of the series that the internet has, things are still updating and theorists are coming up with new views all the time. Also understanding this timeline is made even more hard when you haven't watched the previous theories, as a lot of the things said and the clarification stuff at the end is based off of and addressing previous game theory fnaf videos. But, in the end, fnaf fans are used to confusing, controversial, and absolutely batshit theories being brought to the lore table for discussion.

My personal theory on why his skin gets much paler is because he went from an active teenager with friends to someone who never went outside unless he had too(aka, he was obviously depressed because he killed his brother) he's no longer mildly muscular looking and is skinny and lanky because again, he stopped doing anything he used to do. Sitting in your room all day and night is gonna make you paler and youre gonna lose any natural muscle mass you had from lack of use

I will say a lot of the lore order and timeline wise can be a bit over the place, Scott was most likely not planning on make a whole game series on FNAF actually correct me if I’m wrong but it was just supposed to be the only game but it preformed so well he made more there’s also a clear story being told with pieces seeming they should fit together with a few minor details throwing everything off as if things were planned to be this way but it doesn’t quite fit

Just want to point out, since no one really mentions it. There's no "proper" lore to fnaf 1-4. The entire story was basically build upon by the community with Scott (the creator behind fnaf) basically baiting said community into writing the story by injecting little bits of lore here and there. This, of course, led only to further chaos in the story, because people have different interest and vision to writing a story, foe example Scott himself when he decided to actually write proper story himself after fnaf4 dream theory backlash retconned some of the stuff in previous games and introduced sci-fi elements to the story, MatPat (who basically one of the main "writers" of the story) on the other hand has issues with introducing needless realism to the story, as a result despite Scott using MatPat theory's when "confirming" what's cannon or not basically has a very conflicting ideas to MatPat's ideals.

i think henry died from old age. afton and henry were presumbly the same age when they were rivals and now like 50 or so years have passed since then. and the loss and tragedy prob took a toll on his health. and afton was like 60 before his first murder.

Essentially Matpat didn't explain it but while Michael was busy working in other rooms within the Entertainment and Rental, the Funtime animatronics were busy using the Scooper on themselves, destroying their outer shell and with this they tore wires out of themselves, and stitched it all together to form this frankenstein fusion known as "Ennard". Ennard contains all 4 Funtimes within it - Circus Baby, Funtime Freddy, Funtime Foxy, Ballora and Bon-Bon. They are possessed by Elizabeth (from Baby), and contain whatever remaining remnant from the Missing Children and possibly other unnamed victims they might've kidnapped (MoltenMCI). 14:42 so we never see any of their actual appearances, though fans usually depict Michael as literally purple with his rotting flesh and all. personally, my favorite interpretation of Michael's real appearance comes from "He always does", a fan-animated short by BonBun Films depicting the events of the FNAF 3 fire and Michael's life ever since his death. There's a TON Matt did not explain. He did not write this lore to be very newbie-friendly, he assumes everyone's already seen all his videos, and constantly drops spoilers left, right, and beyond all the time. Not to mention the immense fanfic-like scenario in the first and last video, most of which is not even handwaved in the books or the games, it's just excessive assumptions. At best, this is a FNAF fan-story, with mentions of game events inserted in. There's NO way Michael went to the pizza place, saw the animatronics, burnt them, when all that time, long ago, his father dismantled them all. But hey. MatPat.

Henry was, indeed, dead after the FNaF 6 fire. He was very, very suicidal, and wrapping up the haunted animatronics was the only thing keeping him going. He says in his speech that he is nearby, and that this place will be forgotten, but Matpat cut parts of it out, presumably for time. Look up his entire speech later, it's really good stuff. It was memed for a while, so you should find it easily just by searching up 'Connection Terminated.'

I dont think the Gregory being CC's replica or Ms. Afton being the CEO of fazbear entertainment is true. These are all matpat's personal theories. What i think actually happened (and is more accurate to the games) is that fazbear entertainment inc. Was bought and they needed some quick money so they hired an indie developer to create a VR game based off of the old characters. Theres a small team of developers alongside him including the girl speaking through the tapes. Because they wanted it to be realistic they brought in real circuit boards (one with the remains of William Afton's conscience corrupting the code) and imported it in the coding of the game. Jeremy was a beta tester for the games and he encountered "glitchtrap", the manifestation of William Afton, in the game. He corrupted his mind in hopes of finding a new vessel but it slowly drove Jeremy mad. At this point "tape girl" initiated her logs about the development of the VR game, hiding it deep within the code of the game so the rest of the team wouldn't find it... Jeremy was pushed to the brink of insanity and cut his face off with a paper slicer, and was replaced by Vanessa. Vanessa played the VR games and began discovering the tapes, warning her about an anomaly corrupting the code (glitchtrap). *my theory* is that tape girl was under the influence of William when she advised Vanessa to pull a lever and helped William invade her mind as well. (Just my theory) *insert Gregory* hes a massive fan of Freddy, and also a try hard at games, comes across the Fnaf VR game which had been canceled pre-release, and does his best to beat it. And because he tries so hard at these games, he manages to find all the easter eggs alongside Glitchtrap and gets taken over as well. Now, with a team of followers William gives them all a role: he uses Gregory to code and hack, and lure victims to Vanessa- who under the guise of "Vanny" murders more children in hopes of gathering enough remnant for a vessel of his own, held beneath the basement of the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. (This is going off of the theory that Gregory is patient 46 ( *source:* therapy CD's), GGY/Greg/Rab ( *source:* arcade games throughout the Pizzaplex and the books) ...which would all imply that Gregory had a great childhood and great parents (and had legal documents since he went to school and was going to therapy), under the influence of William Afton at some point (but since he cant seem to remember anything about that, its safe to assume he has amnesia) And as for *Vanessa* (as said in the therapy CD recordings for patient 71): she had a terrible childhood with an abusive father who manipulated her to lie in court, during a divorce trial, against her mother which made something bad to happen to her. And theres no evidence saying otherwise. )

Just a quick heads up. Matpat's modern videos (aka this) are uhh, unreliable. Matpat over the years has gotten pretty bad when it comes to FNaF. To the point where he twists, misintepretes and outright omits important information, so he can fit the narrative that he wants. I think that the best way to delve into the FNaF lore is to either, search for a better video, or watch Matpat's old videos to get a basis and do your own research and try to figure it out yourself

Yknow despite the fact Matpats timeline kinda contradicts itself and shows proof that contradicts it to some degree.. Its entertaining at least.. Almost everything he says has some contradiction like the whole thing of the sister location being under the house. Theres literally tapes in the elevator that imply you're basically acting as a guard, and none of it is implied to be William.

The reason we know it’s under the house is that in the bad ending, ennard exits the facility and follows mike up to the house. Due to the fact that we know they couldn’t leave without looking human, they couldn’t have followed outside. Especially without being seen.

@@zemellion26 Also, I'm pretty sure Mike always leaves at or near 6am, so it's possible Ennard followed, since there were probably few people out. Also, I'm sure Ennard had legs, so he would have walked or ran after Mike. The slowest way he could've went is like a Shimmy.
