SCP 096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP-096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.

There actually is a really good... Well they call it a "movie" but it's like 20-30 minutes, it's not about when they found 096 it's about one of the incidents when it breaks containment. It's one of the more notable instances of 096 escaping and if you like seeing 096 stuff I'd highly recommend it. I enjoyed it greatly.

No, it's not canon. The origin of the Shy Guy was deliberately vague, yet there's only a few things we do know. It seems his natural habitat is in the Himalayas, as when he's calmed down from a rampage he'll attempt to wander back home after a few hours. Who he is (if he was indeed human to begin with) is unknown.

Was not expecting a very specific scp like 1529, but at the same time it makes some from him being found on the same mountians. His sadness comes from the pain he constantly feels after so so long from the mountains and maybe his realization that it wasnt the man he was hoping to kill. His rage comes from his resentment towards the very monster that made him what he is know, he just wanted a challenge, a chance to show off, not to become a monster, he doesn't deserve this pain, that THING does, but he never gets that chance of revenge. So your right, my view on 096 did change, and I appreciate that you did in a very interesting story tale, pretty pls do more of these.

That was a really good origin story for SCP 096, I always headcanoned that he was a leftover from the Seventh Occult War, some poor soul who was experimented on by the Obskuracorps and turned into SCP-096. This one's really good though, would've never imagined he could be tied to SCP-1529 so well

He has a deep trauma from what the king of the mountain put him through while the entire time the king would just stare at him. Tired of this, he doesn’t want to experience such a thing anymore and so he kills anyone who sees his face. Because their gaze reminds him of how the king of the mountain looked at him, the same being that caused him so much pain.

He's not the first one. In the original article, SCP-1529 was punched in the goggles by a non-anomalous human. It would stand no chance against SCP-096, which is one of the reasons why this story doesn't make sense. If I was in that guy's place, I would have used my infinite strength that SCP-1529 gave me (it can't even do that in the first place, read the original article) to annihilate it, and then come down and, I don't know, become an MMA fighter, cause no one could ever beat me.

@@Nightraven4321 you just have to fill in the gaps. his bones are indestructible because the mountain king wants him to never break so that he can keep climbing he has unnatural strength so he can still have power to climb the mountain even when he has little to no energy he kills people because he feels the same stare the mountain king brought upon him, which causes him to rage. the only way in his mind is to erase every single speck of them. he knows where people are because he can feel their stare and so goes towards the source.

The origin story, though cool (pun intended), makes it seem that you have to directly look at the creature itself for it to activate. However, it can and "has" escaped containment after someone had looked at a picture of it. I doubt mental torture would give anyone the ability to know when someone is looking at them via a picture, let alone find out where they are in the world.

Seriously, that story feels like it's desperately trying to be an SCP-1529 reference. SCP-1529 doesn't even have the abilities and behaviours described in the video. He hypnotizes his victim by making eye contact, then offers a gift (which I assume is a quick, painless death), then freezes the person. If the person refuses the "gift", their death will be slow and painful. NOWHERE does it say that he turns people into indestructible monsters that have the strength of a demigod.
