How is this different from the lateral maniscal struts?

I asked Dr Stoller about the ALL. He said it no longer exists and there were some orthopod groups claiming to repair it. I personally think it does exist. But unsure whether orthopods actually consider it significant, as it’s unlikely to be torn in isolation

I just had my ACL reconstructed and Lateral meniscus repaired… as well as my ALL reconstructed. 9 days ago actually. I’m assuming you’re saying it doesn’t exist meaning the procedure? Or the actual ligament? I never knew there was another ligament on the lateral side on the knee, not being stupid I just never knew, only due to how little it is spoken about, of course a lot of people generally speak about your PCL, ACL, LCL, MCL in relation to injuries. When my surgeon’s team member first spoke to me about it he told me what the process was, or what they call the LET reconstruction or repair. Where they either use a bit of the ITB band or hamstring grafts. I was so very lucky (not in a literal sense, sarcasm here lol) I got both my grafts from the same leg. But they also cut into my ITB band a bit. I haven’t seen the surgeon yet, I’ll see him in 5weeks to confirm everything because when I last spoke to him I was very drowsy and had little to no sleep.

That's interesting. It depends likely on regional and educational differences in the background of surgeons.

Very Interesting. Have you ever reported an ALL or AIML tear ? And if so, any response from your orthopaedic surgeons ?
@DrChristophAgten3 жыл бұрын
No and also I haven't encountered segond fractures on MRI recently. But I am eagerly waiting to do so lol
@boxster98173 жыл бұрын
As long as it is not common knowledge to orthopeds and has no concrete clinical consequence it makes the report unnecessarily longer, more complex and less understandable, no? 🤔
@DrChristophAgten3 жыл бұрын
@@boxster9817 we dont have to report every structure we know, i agree, but the ALL is sometimes repaired, so we as radiologist should know "something" about it :)

@@boxster9817 Orthopedic surgeons know the ALL. Sometimes it is enforced with a fibretape simultaneous with ACL repair!

@@DrChristophAgten Hello doctor. Do you know what other type of injured ligaments situated in this area can produce rotational pain and instability or apprehension? So far you presented ALL and AIML but are there any other ligaments once injured manifesting these symptoms?

Doesn't it look like menisci tibial and menisci femoral components of LCL? very confusing indeed n tough to trace them in already damaged knee
