I have partially torn my abdutor hallucis and my medial colateral ligament (according to MRI results), but have not yet received any complete explanation of what was going on until now. Would you mind saying how often this requires surgery tô be fixed? I was recommended just ice and rest, but I have been doing that for at least 4 weeks and its not getting any better

I'm not knowledgable here, but I'm confused. I thought the sesamoids were fully embedded in tendon, rather than having a tendon insert into them.

Axials all the way. I hate the way most publications show the plantar plate on sagittals. "This is a plantar plate tear" *shows image* "Do not confuse with a normal recess" *same image*

lol so true. I had a case where a radiologist said plantar plate tear on sagittal, surgeon even went it to fix it. in surgical report no mentioning of a tear, just some "scar tissue". I look at the preop MRI, i have no clue what they saw lol and by the looks of the surgical report, I had the impression there wasn't really anything going on either...
