THANK YOU for the rant about the removable pads in tops, I can't stand them. Especially for people in the large breast camp (like yours truly 🙋‍♀️) they are never big enough. I hate when the bra top itself fits well but then the removable pad is too small and the imprint of it is visible no matter how you place it.

I adore your shop w me videos! I have my routine down pat now - but while I was struggling to find out what worked for me - skin wise, budget wise, accessibility wise - I watched a TON of your shop w me videos! (Ps-- I still use the CVS zinc SPF 50 daily :)) I don't have a problem collecting water bottles -- but my partner DOES! I have to regularly curate our collection to prevent an infestation of water bottles lol. I started storing them in a special small cabinet above the sink-- now if cabinet is full--no more water bottles allowed! If a new bottle comes in, an old one must go out. I've been using the cvs dupe of Head & Shoulders for dandruff! Have been loving it.

It is so true that there is not enough access to good dermatologists. I come from from a small town, we do have a dermatologist but unfortunately she doesnt seem to care about digging into a skin issue. She spends maybe 5 minutes in an appointment and then prescribes medication. It is frustrating especially when things I dont understand are happening to my skin and I cant get an explanation. Your videos have helped me considerably, thank you so much for taking the time.

Dr. Dray, I’m so glad you addressed about potential issues surrounding dermatological problems, ER visits, & hospitalization. I had a dear elderly friend several years ago who developed symptoms consistent with contact dermatitis. His dermatologist immediately recommended a change from any soaps/shower gels, shampoos, body care products that contained fragrance or known potential allergens. His condition was so severe, he had to use a separate bathroom from his wife & daughter to prevent any potential airborne particles from affecting him. His condition continued to worsen, & at one point, he had to be rushed to the ER with his hands bleeding uncontrollably. He did require hospitalization & was eventually released, but was sent to specialists at University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, & I believe finally to Mayo Clinic. It was believed that there was some kind of autoimmune component to his condition, but the actual cause was never determined & the many attempted treatments were futile. He eventually died, & to this day, his case is in the medical literature in case it might be beneficial to someone else down the line with similar symptoms/disease progression. All this to say, as you mentioned, dermatological assessment is vital in so many cases, & for some like my friend, certain conditions can be fatal. It’s serious stuff, & it is truly disconcerting when this kind of important care is becoming harder to come by. My friend received fairly timely care, but I wonder about people who have no choice but to delay due to unavailability of care or financial hardship. His experiences were very eye-opening for me. 😕

Completely agree with everything you’ve said about Dermatologists. In the UK we have a serious lack of Dermatologists and unless you can afford to pay privately then you have to wait at least 6 months for a Consultation. I’ve always found it strange that we are covered in skin yet there seems to be a lack of available medical resources when it come to skin health. x

It really is a problem for every country. People who can't afford paying a private doctor for given the situation dermatologist what they we can do ? Resolve it by ourselves and worsen the problem ? And the treatment if it is costly ? Actions should must be taken. We really shouldn't play with matters of health it is really bad on their behalf for those who do. 😇🙏

Thank you Dr. Dray! I am an RN and have over a decade of care management (ED and outpatient). I am a huge advocate in promoting education on appropriate utilization of healthcare resources and preventative care. And absolutely, initiating care with a dermatologist with regular visits can decrease healthcare waste (time/money/progression of disease/incorrect treatments) while also having a positive impact on quality of life. Loss of sleep due to itching being an example anyone can relate to, which overtime does have a profound impact especially with children (and their parents alike).

Your videos are so good to have & I bet your patients adore having a doc like you. I was lucky to get a good dermatolgist to treat my psoriasis (related to sarcoidosis). She turned me on to the CeraVe ointment that I still use today - 7 years later. One funny thing is that the first few times I saw the doc was while I was having a lot of "bad brain" days & I was so offended that she always kept her hands in her labcoat pocket when she entered the exam room. It took me months to realize that, as a dermatologist, she probably didn't like shaking hands with patients without her gloves on. And, you're right, I can't see a dermatologist as often as I would like.

I personally believe that insurance should pay out more for dermatology visits. I under stand some people go for “vanity” reasons… but my vanity has led to my derm finding pre- cancerous spots on my face and body. ( Summers spent at the neighbors pool all day everyday with no sunscreen ) using Tretinoin has aloud me to see my skin better without my malasma masking the rest of my face. I now go every six months for my check up on my Vasculitus and “cancer”checks.

I live in a apartment building that was formally a school, built 100+ years ago. In the foyer we have a small bookcase to leave & borrow books. Above that, there's is a blackboard for messages. On the bookcase there was a clear plastic disposable container for the chalk, which I saw every time I entered the foyer. Recently, I couldn't help myself and I swapped it! I did this after I realised that I already had a more aesthetically pleasing one that would be the perfect replacement. I had found it years ago on one of my thrift shopping trips. It is made by Bendigo Pottery (collectable Australian) and is a leaf green glazed shallow dish. The best thing is that it is divided into two sections. The large section sits The chunky chalk sits in the large section and the small chalk sits in smaller chalk. I feel much better now every time I come home and open the big black foyer door. Little things can make a big difference. 👱‍♀️❤

I’m so glad you said all of that about access to dermatological care. Currently in my area, there is a year long waitlist to see the dermatologists anywhere near me. It’s ridiculous. If someone is really suffering from a condition, seeing a dermatologist quickly can make a huge difference. I suffer from scalp psoriasis and eczema and the diagnosis and treatment suggestions for my scalp psoriasis literally changed my life. The painful, itching plaques I would get would also flake on my shoulders. It was really debilitating physically and embarrassing and I went through it for years until a derm gave me treatment options that keep it under control. I also have babies and it’s very anxiety-inducing to see your baby struggle with eczema or another skin condition and getting in to see someone can help a parent out so much.

It also can save your life. In my case, I had a white small lesion on my upper chest, I never suspected that it was cancer. Always thought cancer had to be dark and irregular shaped. This was white, almost clear, but shiny. I watched it for several years, until one day I just didn’t like how it looked. Somehow it seemed as if it changed, never got darker, just had a feeling. My dermatologist that I had to search for, and wait a long time to get an appointment with said she had never had someone come to her that had found their own skin cancer. It was removed I was treated with that awful cream went back every three months for a year and a half then six months, then a year. Was going back yearly and it came back in a different spot but on the same side. I had to start it all over again. Thankfully, it has been about a year and a half now. I still faithfully go every six months. I appreciate and I’m so thankful for your videos and my dermatologist.

Another general gripe I have is...the text on the boxes or the tubes of skincare/makeup etc. are all getting so tiny, it is basically illegible/unreadable. Are they doing that on purpose so that you'd buy something without reading up on the ingredients and what nots? The only way to read the text is to take a photo of it with your mobile and then expand it. I don't want to be doing that with every product I browse! Tis ridiculous! Yes, I, too, am confused about the multiple tags on bras. It is so strange.

The ER Dr said her facial wounds and facial road-rash abrasions would heal w/no scarring (said no stitches needed), but left her face untreated (didn't clean up any wounds or abrasions on her whole body), didn't prescribe anything for her, and didn't refer her to a dermatologist. Once home, while in a lot of pain, she had to clean all her wounds! (She's single.) She's been treating her face with aloe vera and a neighbor (calls himself a Chinese healer) gave her tincture to use as well. She plans on seeing a derm soon. Hard to believe the ER Dr didn't address her facial wounds and was only interested in checking for broken bones (fortunately only a fractured elbow). I live in the States and too far away to help her directly. Seems patients have to demand proper treatment with ER Drs who are in such a hurried rush. That's my rant for today. Love your videos Dr Dray! You alerted us to upcoming rising prices for skincare, thank you. Your title for this video is timely, esp how we can save $ rather than wasting. Seems inflation is taking its toll on everything and taking a hit on everyone's budget. Ugh! (Btw, your Kroger store looks really nice.)

I definitely agree with you on the pads that are not sewn in. I hate them. With the anticipation of the increase in price of skincare, would you please do a video on the bare minimum products to keep aging skin functioning? I’m in that age category and I watched helplessly as my late husband’s skin started breaking down before he died.

Girl! I have been waiting to see a dermatologist in my area. They told me it will be over 1 year. I have severe acne and now my ears and neck have a very itchy red bumpy rash and I keep going back to regular doctor cause the past 3 times I've been misdiagnosed so it's not going away. I work in food service it's really embarrassing to show up looking the way I do.

Dr. Dray, I highly recommended you the Under Armor Sport Bra. They are expensive but worth it. They don’t have removable pads and are perfect after wash them. I teenage daughter with Autism only uses Sport Bras and you can imagine the poor girl putting back the pads after every wash. Until I researched and found The Holy Grail for Bras perfect for her!!! Thanks for all your recommendations! Much love from TX! ❤❤❤

Dr Dray, as a seasoned sales lady myself and super devoted fan of your work, I found that explaining how skincare works is art. So in response to how you explain "anti-aging" you nailed it. The longevity of the cells in their best health is the goal with skincare. So as the layers of the skin are exfoliating away, the new daughter cells will be nurtured because of the attention given by daily practice and that reflects in the appearance of the epidermis. I am a big believer in skincare and am always happy to sit down a skeptic and explain. It works when you do it. anti aging is a lifestyle

If you want to keep them because the fabric is too thin without them, I recommend just sewing them in place so they don't move around. Prevents all of the crumpling. Just a few discrete stitches will help immensely.

Hey dr dray, you should do an expose or rant against those kiosks or stores that sell dead sea skin care. They have so many manipulative staff that bother ppl in the mall. I was shocked to find out that this not only happens in my country but also there in the states. If you google it, there are so many complaints yet I havent seen anyone talk about it

While I prefer the coverage those pesky pads give, putting them back in is an absolute frustration I could do without. Listen up, sports bra makers. Just sew the darn things in! In the rural area where I live, there's only one derm office to serve two counties. Appointments are several months out even if you're having a real problem. So I'm sure the local hospital ER and Urgent Care offices see a lot of skin problems. Enjoyed the vlog! Your new candles sound nice! Happy Saturday, Dr Dray!! Hope you have a tranquil evening. 💖

Im an Oncologist who does a lot of skin Oncology and its not taken seriously bye many people. A lymphoma is a lot of times mistaken for an eczema or smth similar. Even MDs dont look at skin as they use to. In my opinion EVERYBODY should have an annual dermatoscopy but rarely anybody does. In my country you can wait for a year or more to access a derm, unless you pay out of pocket.

There are long waits to see a derm in my country, Australia. Just in the news this morning, is that in the state of Queensland, skin cancer deaths now outnumber car accident deaths. And Qld has a rate of melanoma 40% higher than the rest of the country. People flock to live there because of the sunshine and beaches and parts of it are tropical zone.

I always rip those sports bra pads out and chuck them. They are never lined up in the right place and offer zero support. 🙁 I totally agree on the multiple tags in them too! Ugh! Do they have any idea how uncomfortable those tags are pressed up against the skin?? I like Tuscany candles too, they're inexpensive and last a good amount of time. 😊

My sister has erythrodermic psoriasis that started 5 years ago. Many visits to the ER, stays in hospital and 3 weeks in a rehab facility. Complications necessitated having a toe amputated. The dermatologists were stumped until one of them finally figured it out. She was the first case many had ever seen. It was over a year from onset to recovery. It almost killed her. My husband’s medical school classmate started out in an Internal Medicine residency for 3 years then switched over to Derm. Said it was the best thing he could possibly have done. Maybe there should be more Derm programs that include intensive Internal Medicine studies.
